Kinda hard to fully explain what I mean in the title.

Basically what I am wondering is will people who have the 360 now just stick with MS next gen because they had a good experience with the 360.

The same way I suppose people got into PS1 and just went out and got the PS2 when it came out because of the PS1.

Then just waited for PS3 and totally by passed the 360 just because of there previous experiences.

So come next gen will 360 owners just say to hell with it this console has to be good.

With a much improved user base will they be the new Sony come next gen?

What I mean by that is will they be the ones regarded as the future of gaming.(if you get what I am saying)

I probably at present will stick with MS next gen as I was quite pleased and surprised with the 360.

I mean I actually find it hard to beleive sometimes that this thing is nearly 4 years old.

Caviat here. I know this gen is not over but I mean if current trends continue.

I think you will also see people pulled in by the existence of their XBL account, achievements, friends etc.

360 managed to steal all Sony's non-first party exclusives (except MGS) and be the cheaper system.   If they hadn't, PS3 would be selling much better.

People are less loyal to console manufacturers as they are to their favorite game genre/franchises.

I know what youre saying mine has broke twice in 2 and a half years.

Nwver red ring mind you but I still like it as a really good gaming console.

In fact I would go further and say it is more of an all round entertainment system.

That is not to excuse its flaws mind you which is imo the hardware.

Someone earlier, I think it was shio, said that X360 owners will be quite loyal thanks to the Xbox Live community, and that their gamerscore and whatever transfers over if they buy the next Xbox.

I think theres a lot of truth in that (and the same applies to PSN of course).

This gen is an important one. And RROD won't mean very much. People will feel that if there's something MS will have fixed for next gen, it will be the hardware.

i think there are a large amount of people that dont follow the industry. and therefore picking the console that is cheapest/shinier. so if the big three want to get more customers then they will make their next console shiny.
