Yes, that´s true - but it is past; five years ago, when the PS2 sold like crazy. If Nintendo releases Wii health pack, it will outsell both Final Fantasy and Metal Gear Solid that´s what I said for more than a week now. Does anybody read what I say? Final Fantasy comes out next year, that is the problem. Next year Nintendo could have 4 million Wii consoles sold and then it´s too late for Sony to close the gap cause the developers will support Nintendo and not Sony. When Nintendo launched the N64 everyone waited for Zelda to beat the PSX alone. Then Zelda came and it didn´t help. The same will happen with FF and Metal Gear Solid. And today Nintendo has Mario, Metroid, Brawl and others to compete against the PS3´s millionsellers. 10 years ago I told everyone the N64 would fail - nobody believed, all of them said: "When Zelda comes out the PSX will fail" - did it fail? Nope Sir, it won against the mightiest franchises in the world - Mario and Zelda. Only 28% of all gamers are hardcore gamers. The others are casual. Keep that in mind, everyone: The one who catches the casual gamers will win this war.

True enough, and right now at the moment the PS3 isn't even firing a shot towards the casual gamer crowds, with either games or prices. Little Big Planet looks cute, but I don't think it'll do any better than Viva Pinata for 360 did. And Sony's Home definitely doesn't appeal to crowds of people like the Mii system does. Saying "oh that looks cool" which does describe Home, doesn't make it any fun to play with. :-/

Why? Do you really think good-looking soft can't be fun. What makes Mii so outstanding? Mii is poor I don't understand how can you compare it with such descent system as Home. How can you speak with such certainty. This is silly.

Home's design is far more attractive to "serious" gamers, it's mainy only hitting the same market that the PS3 is already attacking with it's current lineup. The Mii system is "simple and cute", while it offers less to "serious gamers" but is much more attractive and approachable than Sony's "Home" system for casual and non-gaming crowds. And let's not forget the interface, the biggest attraction for the Wii. With the Mii's they're using a remote control instead of a gamepad, which a lot of people outside of the "serious gamer" crowd find cumbersome and confusing. Why do you think Nintendo's new Wii commercials focus on the Mii system? How many times, since launch, have you heard of people getting their Wii's and spending hours creating new characters, and even HAVING THEIR OWN FAMILIES AND FRIENDS make their own characters? I'll just end it with this : If the Wii tried to use the Home style graphics and interface with a regular gamepad, the wii would practically be dying already. I'd bet money on this statement. Wii sports would not be a system seller anywhere near what it is now.

Be aware this works both ways. I believe Home is accurrate for PS3 oriented gamers and talking about things like "And Sony's Home definitely doesn't appeal to crowds of people like the Mii system does." is a bit exaggerate. It's like The Sims - but this is YOU in the game. You can date, play and so. Possibilities are impressive - why it's so damn difficult for Nintendo fanboys to admit it. EDIT: BTW I don't believe there is a need to attract non-gamers. Sony has massive base of users and they know what the audience needs. Home is one of the answers. PS3 follows the lagacy of PS2. Same style but better - games will arrive. Gamers will follow.

In regards to Square. I think people have the relationship the wrong way around. Square will support the winning console. They have always had this attitude. It helps the steamroll effect of the winning console but the console has already taken the market by that point.

Yes, I forgot about an ultimate argument You can't afford for PS3 but is it enough to criticize? Does Lexus suck too?

I can afford it, believe me. I Just don't find it wise to buy a console which costs 660 Euros (=865 USD) I can't deny that the PS3 is the most technical advanced system but i'd prefer to buy it when the price goes down! (either way i'm getting one free next month)

Yes Lexus sucks :) (at least they are boring, give me a lotus anyday or why not ariel atom THAT is a fun car) I think what people here is stating is that home is cool! but is it fun/cool enough to drive sales? For those of you owning a ps3 is it out yet or when does it come?
