GTA, Mercenaries, Destroy all humans, X, elder scrolls. A game that has no start or end. A game that has no purpose other than playing.

I remember from an interview that one of/the primary purpose of the open world is that Travis Touchdown works strait day-jobs when not light-sabering people, one of which is being a garbage man, lol.

I'm looking forward to this game, mainly for its crazy style. The fact that it's "mature" doesn't really affect me...I agree that games should just be called "vulgar" instead, because people misinterpret it as "playing the game makes you mature." It's really "you need to be mature to play this game" which many gamers aren't...but whatever.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

Oh man that sounds awesome. It reminds me of a dreamcast gem called Shenmue. It sounds like doing your job in the game is boring, but there is something really rewarding about it.

I wonder had Nintendo known Wii would be this successful they would still welcome M-rated games like No More Heroes. I mean, sure, M-rated games would sell some number of consoles, but I wonder if it's worth the turning away by some really conversative group of parents and potentially negative PR. Especially Manhunt 2. At least the designer of No More Heroes seems like he knows what he's doing, and seems like he's got a good track record. I mean, Manhunt is almost exactly the opposite of Miyamoto's philosophy. Were they that desperate because of Gamecube? Then again, M-rated games didn't stop PS2 from becoming the best-selling console of all time, and seems like the negative PR is directly towards video games in general as opposed to a particular console. I suppose you can't stop the uber-worried group anway. Strangely, I'm actually thinking of getting this when it comes out. I don't really know why--I've never been into this sort of games--maybe it's all because of the hype.

the Wii is an epidemic.

Especially with parental control being built into the consoles this gen', Nintendo has that to fall back on for a defence when the inevitable bad-press because of Manhunt 2 Wii comes around...

Well for one thing, Miyamoto is not in charge of Nintendo. His philosophy usually sticks to his games such as Mario, Zelda and so on which happen to be only on Nintendo platforms. And yeah it was that bad for GC. Excluding a game because it's not in your rating category is not a good thing. That's the same as saying were a grown up console, so we won't release any games rated E. That's just plain stupid, and one of the reasons Wii is doing so good is because they ARE targeting such a vast variety of gamers and non-gamers and what they prefer.
