Forums - Gaming Discussion - How many games you buy?

I don't have the money to buy many games.... but then I very rarely sell them, and as such I play most of them to death.... usually "completing" (the definition of which changes between games of course) them 3 or 4 times.

If you divide my game collection by the total number of months I have been gaming (approx 13 years = 156 months... probably a little more than that so I will say 160 months)

Then including VC and Wiiware I get 1 game every 2 months. or 0.5 per month.

I have only bought 1 game "twice" using Virtual Console so I should probably not discount VC games.

-----

Since I bought my Wii 26 months ago though I have bought 30 games in total (10 VC and 1 GameCube).

So in that time I bought more than 1 game per month on average.

----
The number of games that have been sold is all of the Megadrive ones (I think I had 2 more than stated in my collection, but for this purpose I will just say 9) 10 of my N64 games, and 4 of my GameCube games.

Including PSN games then 3-4 a month, and I always finish games before moving on. Plus I have never gotten rid of any games, So I probably have over a thousand games in storage. Unless I buy the Special Edition that comes out later, then I normally sell the original one.

Your PS3/PSN collection is superb.

I think you should add you entire collection to your page.

Thank you,  I would love to add them all but the time it would take to add them all I could probably buy and complete another game.

i usually get mine from gamefly, and if i really enjoy the game i buy it from them, and i usually sell my used games i don't want anymore on ebay or glyde.

Edit: Actually I take back what I said before. I buy an average of 2 games a month. However I try to hit that bargain bin on cheap games, rather than spend $60 on a game I know either I will not beat in months.

However I did trade in a lot of games these past couple of weeks. I just saw little value on games that I beat. But apparently I do miss having those games I traded in. I have declared I will start up a collection of video games!

jan - 0
feb - 0
mar - 1
arp - 4

so about 1.2 games peer month so far

wii -1
ds - 1
xbox360 -3
ps3 -0
psp -0

In the last six months I've bought almost 20 games. That's basically 3 per month. I buy them when I find them cheap. Most of them were 20 bucks or less. I buy them everywhere: amazon, newegg, walmart, sam's, heb.

I don't trade in my games. I only did that once back in the 90's when I traded my NES Final Fantasy for the NES Nightmare on elm street game. I couldn't quite understand how to play Final Fantasy back then cause I didn't know much about the english language.

I got 8 sealed games in my house as I type this... so I guess I buy too many games even when I don't have much time to play them.

I buy roughly a game a month ( more during holydays, total is like 15 a year) and I think Gamefly sends me 2-3 games per month too...
I do not resell the games I buy.

How much I buy depends on what games I am currently working on and how big my backlog is.

I ended up the PS2 era with 3 unopened games I have never played and I have decided not to repeat the same thing this gen so I do not buy a game if I have more than 1 unopened game at home....

So far the only games I purchased this gen and haven't finished yet are R&C Future ( bought it cheap and then trophies came and never felt like going back to the game to finish it due to lack of trophies support , KZ2 ( going back to it soon, Re5 took priority when it was released) and LBP(having a hard time finding time to really get into it...)

PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !
