Former Soviet Republics are better off with a Russian version (or English) as they're not even related to Japan.
the Middle East are better off with a Turkish or Islamic (or English) version as they're still not related to Japan.
Southern Asia has former British colonies and speak English.
What's left of Asia Japan conquered in WWII and the might not like Japan and they're languages look in no way like Japan (only that they're strange signs us Westerns will not understand.
For the Sushi eating crowd, go live in Japan!

But Godzilla will eat me.....

In the end, all games should be either in English or Gibrish, so that either everyone can understand or no one can understand = Equal rights and no racism.

Actually, a portion of the Japanese writing systems (Kanji) is borrowed from the Chinese, so their writing do look similar.

However, due to the usage of hiragana as well (a different writing system; they mix these different scripts, btw), different sentence structure and grammar, and simply language difference, a Chinese would struggle to understand a Japanese sentence. On the other hand, a Chinese should be able to learn Japanese faster than other non-Japanese since learning Kanji alone takes time.

Well, i'm sorry about that, when someone tell Asia i think in China,Vietna,Korea and those countries with people with pulled eyes, i just forget about India,Russia,Middle East and etc. I think most of people have this problem, just like when someone say America, everyones think about United States and forget about south america and central america.

But back to the thread, China have a population of 1.3 billion people, i just can't believe the market for console gaming is that small, even if just 10% can buy games it's already 130 MILLION people, and if just 1% have interest in console it's already 13 million.

Japanese games are irrelevant to the other asian countries. There's far more non-japanese games in Asia than japanese games.

China, Russia and South Korea's videogame markets are increasing at a lighting speed, and they are more than capable of developing their own games. Those 3 countries are also extremely PC-centric, while Japan is not, so there is almost no overlap that allows japanese games to be commercially significant in continental Asia.

All the games here in Korea are in Korean. That said, in the PC world, they do spend a lot of time with english.

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

Correct. While some console gaming exists in Russia, PC gaming is truly huge. In fact, the only gaming mag I read is a russian PC mag - even though I barely play PC games. However, I'm still interested in the hardware part of PC's and multiplat reviews, which is why I read it.

In South Asia and I believe Middle East, English is the main language for Video Games... this also applies to South East Asia I think.

I can not speak on China's behave but I assume Hong Kong has English Video Games.

Russia and Korea actually have games in Russian and Korean.

The only nations left are Middle Asian countries... which I will safetly assume is similar to South Asia, Middle Eeast and South East.

Correct. Most of the games are imported from the UK... and also correct, almost every PC game is localised in Russia, Mass Effect has a terrific localisation in which proffesional voice actors participate.
