Forums - Sony Discussion - just bought "burnout paradise" for ps3

I wanted to buy the game until I read if you lose a race or want to retry it, you have to drive back to the location on the open world map and that put me off :s I just found that really annoying.

Is this true and how annoying is it? I can imagine it happening a lot when you reach the more difficult stages of the game where you have to keep driving back and forward to retry.

The most recent patch added a restart option, so you don't have to worry about that anymore

when you play online make sure you either start your own session or join with someone who is actually doing challenges or games. The first few times I went online I thought it was the dumbest thing ever until I entered one where they were doing challenges. Now I just host my own games so I can start lots of challenges.

Anyways, I think the game is awesome, but I wish it didn't leave the true burnout roots of crashing and trying to rack up the most damage. The crash mode where you rack up $ damage in this game sucks.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

honestly that never bothered me, beacuse I would just start whatever race I was near after I lost. If you decided to keep trying the same one over and over again it would be anoying, but as pointed out they fixed that problem

It was never really a problem unless you had trouble winning a burning route or had won a lot of events already, but aside from those few cases, I agree with nordlead.

Frankly, the game is awesome, definitely give online ago, it is incredibly fun, especially if you find a good server

it also has a ton of trophies

Exactly the same as me. I NEVER owned a racing game, except for Mario Kart 64, and this blew my mind. Really amazing game, and really easy trophies also. Really worth $19.99 lol.

Battlefield Bad Company 2 > Modern Warfare 2

cool, thanks for everyone's advice and info into this game :)

looks like I'm going to have to pick it up afterall. I've owned every burnout prior to this, was a bit unsure of the open world thing but it seems the game is awesome anyway.

I'll pick it up end of this month. I've bought too many games this month although LBP for £13 brand new was a bargain :p

I just bought the game too. I haven't played it yet though. At $20 it was a must get for me. I love racing games and usually buy all the ones I can.
