Hus, you seriously need to stop generalizing casual games and trolling in this thread.

Since when does Casual = very easy very basic that any idiot can play them?

Guitar Hero is considered a Casual game...can you beat Jordan on expert?  I only know a few gamers that can...

But anybody can pick up and play Guitar Hero on easy...it's great for casual gamers.

Who the hell said LBP would be hard anyway?  The developers have been taunting it's accessibility to ALL gamers since LBP was announced...perfect for all gamers...casual and hardcore alike.  Why the hell do you think that's bad?

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

 True

Sorry but that is the idea behind every casual game (like the games I mentioned before).

Sorry but then their are no casual games in the world if we take your example :s.

But anybody can pick up and play Guitar Hero on easy...it's great for casual gamers.

True and that is the idea behind Guitar Hero.

Sorry ben but he said it is no bad, I think his reaction is the same if I say to a Zelda fan   ZELDA IS AN RPG!!

.....

He didn't say it's bad...but that's what he is clearly implying.

He seems to think the definition of a casual game is "EASY ASS GAMEPLAY"...which is not true. Casual games are generally games that are a good time waster, games that most people can pick up and play...but that doesn't mean an experienced gamer can't also find a challenge in it.

Even if the definition of a casual game was "EASY ASS GAMEPLAY"...I would imagine LBP could fit in there. You can do whatever you want in LBP...a third grader could have fun playing it just as a 20 year old could.

I'm getting this game when it comes out

"I could make Halo. It's not that I couldn't design that game. It's just that I choose not to. One thing about my game design is that I never try to look for what people want and then try to make that game design." - Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto

PSN joshmyersBV Global rank in Warhawk: 1734 Rank: Wing Leader Over 200 Mine kills

Looks very cool and a must own for ps3 owners.

Even as a casual game, there have been rumblings between Joystiq writers that this could be a killer PS3 app

I could imagine this being award Casual Game of the Year 2008. Because, truly, this is a casual game. It's one where you could just go in for a few minutes, fuck around, have fun, then shut down and go do something else. It doesn't require you to devote 20-30 hours, or have massive skillz, in order to have fun. Simple rules that work in a logical way, where the player is given all the power to do pretty much anything they want. That's a modern casual game.

casual games rock when the are simple but deep. case in point guitar hero, mario, ssb, and a bunch more (lbp is shaping up nicely in this regard).

my pillars of gaming: kh, naughty dog, insomniac, ssb, gow, ff

i officially boycott boycotts.  crap.

But what makes LBP so interesting is that it deliberately blurs the line between casual/non-casual gaming. You'll have the option of creating your very own custom levels, sure, but the game will ship with tons and tons of prefabricated levels and designs, plus the option to download even more stuff online (both commercial and fan-made).

So it's as casual and carefree -- or as hardcore and intricate as you want it to be. I'm sure that's why it's taking so long to build - Sony is doing lots of play-testing and play-leveling to see what works and what doesn't, to create decent interfaces, etc.

Yeah, difficulty could come in creating very complex machines, or difficult levels made by other users...but I don't see why Hus thinks this game can't be played by casual gamers as well.

I'm shocked no one actually read the articles and saw the Subtext "Click the image above to check out all No More Heroes screens."

I could swear it was an article about Little Big Planet. Maybe we've been lied to all this time! Gasp! Dual company conspiracies.

Oh, and Hus, it's casual. My word is law. Well, I havn't tested it out in Court, but I'm hoping.
