Forums - Sony Discussion - PS3’s lineup for ‘09 too good to be true?

white knight chronicles is on the list of games Sony is showing at E3. Since they will obviously only show games that are or going to be localized, his second listing serves no purpose as it's pretty much confirmed.

Heavy Rain- September/October
MAG- July/August
R & C- Crack in Time- November
Uncharted 2- October
WKC- December
God of War 3- March 2010
GT5- April/May 2010
plus some other games I 'm guessing

looking back on this article...it appears that about half of those games will be coming out in 2009....

 Final Fantasy XIII - 2010

God of War III - 2010

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves - 2009

Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 - 2009

 Heavy Rain - 2010

Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time - 2009

GT5 - 2010

MAG: Shadow War - 2009?

 White Knight Chronicles - 2010

the one game that really surprises me is White Knight Chronicles....I understand that they are adding all the DLC and updates that are current with what the Japanese market has already received and they have to localize all that content, but for it to take 15 months to localize one game is a bit ridiculous....

this game will now have to compete with God of War III and Final fantasy XIII

^And of those I can only see 1 being safely "AAA" in both sales and rating. The rest are anyone's game, especially MAG if it makes it out in 2009.

I'm not sold on MAG either, but it's a game that has a serious amount of buzz around it....

I have been saying for awhile that the whole 256 players in MAG is nothing more than a gimmick because the game doesn't impress me at all from what I've seen...

I was so excited for White Knight Chronicles.

Now it has become so dated that it is dead to me. It's still so far away.

Too early to call GT5- I would still say 2009 is more likely- they want to get it out of the gate as soon as possible, and Yamauchi says it's basically ready. They'll want to couple it with a price cut, and release it in a holiday season, and 2010 is too far away (if 2010 has a price cut, which is unlikely).

...and there will be a price drop at TGS....

thanks for the response coolestguyever...ahaha

Ratchet and Clank looks like a Fall title right now...

Uncharted 2....Winter...

GT5...yeah November...in 2010 probably...

and as far as MAG goes....my whole thing was...is they didn't need to go as far as "256 players online"...that just sounds like a gimmick to me...they could have implemented some nice sixaxis functionality, innovative gameplay....or something....

I personally can barely handle the 60 players on Resistance 2...let alone 256 players on levels that have areas I will probably never even get to see...

MAG still has the makings of a great title....but I just think they were trying a bit too hard with the "256 players online" talk...but we shall see...

@MAG.. it's usually not going to feel like there's 256 players playing with you though. There's such large maps and you have unique goals to accomplish that you probably won't interact with most of the people.
