Yeah I was under the same impression, but after watching the video I really could tell they have realized how bad they fucked up. He won't make the same empty promises again, 2 times in a row. That would put the core fanbase, the one that's always with Nintendo at a great risk and they don't want that.
Remember that even during the worst times, these people followed Nintendo, so losing them will ensure that when another dark time arrives, they won't have this huge back up.
