Wii- got caught up in the hype bought it day 1. Twilight Princess. Had every other Nintendo console. It was cheap.

PS3- Free Wifi. Free Online. Backwards Compatible. LAIR (thats right I said Lair go f*ck yourself if you think thats wrong) To teach me discipline :)

PSP- Won a bet with my dad that he'd buy me anything I wanted and the PSP just happened to be launching that day.

My 2nd PSP- old one broke and my friend sold me hers for $5.

PS3:

Blu-ray --> Kung Fu Panda PQ and AQ are INSANE!
60GB/ Full BC --> Scare Tactic!

I'm happy with my purchase. :)

ps3 - good ps2 releases were drying up so i wanted a current gen system. sony ip's and free online were a pretty big factor in my decision to buy a ps3 over an x360. the wii's library didn't really interest me enough to warrant a purchase.

pc - needed to buy a pc anyways, so i built one that runs osx and has a decent video card for gaming. most of the x360's "exclusives" that I care about wind up on the pc for $10 less than hd console games.

Ps3: Because of blu-ray, MGS 4, FF 13, FF vs 13, Heavy Rain, GOW 3, GT 5, KZ2 and because i dont have to worry the next 4-5 years to buy a new platform.

PS3: It was a PlayStation, and the BC models were discontinued. I wanted one with BC (the only reason I use my PS3 nowadays). Also there were a few games I was interested in, mainly MGS4 (what a disappointment).

360: Had lots of games I was interested in, and most of the multiplats run and look better on 360 with exclusive DLC.

DS: RPG heaven.

This is just sad.

OT:  While the game library is always the biggest influence on my purchasing decisions, I probably wouldn't have bought my 360 or PS3 when I did without the great deals that I got.  That said, here are the one or two major influences on my purchase of each console (at time of purchase):

360: Dead Rising

Wii: Twilight Princess, Wii Sports

PS3: Blu-ray, dreams of White Knight Story (whoops?)

Wii: Hello it's Nintendo we are talking about, no one will ever come close to Nintendos game library.

PS3: I thought it would get all the great RPG's out there.

360: I bought it beacuse, there where no damn RPG I wanted out there wich wasn't on the 360...
