I doubt it. Lets not forget how many people bought a 360 JUST for Halo 3. I dont think anyone bought a PS3 JUST for FFXIII and GOW3. Im sorry but i doubt they will even beat Halo 3 in total WW sales and definatly wont break its Week 1 sales



I mostly play RTS and Moba style games now adays as well as ALOT of benchmarking. I do play other games however such as the witcher 3 and Crysis 3, and recently Ashes of the Singularity. even second iterations of games sold over over 9.8 million easily. all up GT4.

and 5 million sales come the europe. sony strong market.

I feel you, but for GT5 to sell 10 mil, either half of the current userbase would have to buy it, or it would have to move a shitload of hardware. Unless the userbase greatly increases before it is released. I'm not saying it cant happen, cause again I have never followed the series, but I just dont know. I still think FF has the best chance because it performs so well in all regions. But then again, I guess GT does also. I mean, Prologue sold like 3 mil not including the PSN copies, so.....

I never heard of anyone talking bout making a GT movie.  I have never seen GT logos on mountain dew and burger king advertisements.

The sales figures for all the games. GT is more popular than Halo, Gran Turismo is known as 'the' racing game

 

 

yeah of course GT 1-4 have more sales than halo 3...because the PS2 had over 120 MILLION UNITS!!!!!  over a third of overyone that owns an xbox 360 has a copy of halo 3, GT has what? meby one tenth of the install base at best for the PS2 and GT: Prolouge has about one sixth of the install base owning it, so NO!! GT is not and will never be more popular than halo.

User base doesn't matter in this argument.  Gran Turismo is more popular.  Deal with it.

 

 

Great i love how you state it is more popular without stating any facts like i just did, and YES userbase does infact matter in this argument.  Tell me does any of the GT games have over 1 MILLION unique players playing each day...no it doesn't!! so how bout instead of just stating it like a fact back it up with PROOF that its more popular, take off your fanboy glasses and look around.

You won't understand that Gran Turismo is flat out 'more' popular....A percentage is not going to give you an accurate number.  Raw numbers will show that Gran Turismo series sells more copies and is more popular than any Halo game.  Gran Turismo doesn't have online or hasn't released statistics for it.  You don't need to play Gran Turismo online either.  Most players would probably prefer off-line mode.

The proof is in the pudding, kid.   14,000,000 Gran Turismo 3 players say that it's more popular (By far) than ANY Halo installation.

 

Yeah but wasnt GT bundled??? i know when i bought my 2nd PS2 it was included in the package. So how many of those 14M people actually went and bought the game??

Why yes it was....but the majority of Halo 3 copies sold on their own 

Bundles for Halo 3 were and are far and few between.

Anyone know how heavily GT3 was bundled??

What was even funnier though were the amount of people returning Halo 3 for trade in credit the same week they bought it, I wish I could get those numbers from my Gamestop friends. They may have sold out of new ones, but they NEVER ran out of used copies, that game has NO replay value what-so-ever.



The Halo francise is the most overrated bland game to ever hit the console market. It provides a bad name to all FPS that even showed effort at creating an original entertaining plot.

I probably have more ps3 games than you :/

actually, especially in NA Halo 3 bundles were absolutley tiny. And yes I mean a very very few amount. The Halo 3 edition 360 didn't even come with the actual Halo 3 game. GT3 was HEAVILY bundled.

Mr. Troll, i was talking about Halo 3 bundles not original halo bundles, I know halo one and 2 were decently bundled but halo 3 isn't bundled very much.

Wow so there we go GT3 was heavily bundled, wonder what mr. tingo and such sony fans as that have to say on this matter.

Agreed GT is signicifant and bigger than Forza, easily.

Agreed it's going to sell well, but GT5 will not easily do 3 million in its first week, that's laughable. SSBB's 1 week will > GT5's. Just trust me.

GT4 did 2.5 million first week easily. and it was the second game of the ps2.

Ala GT3 > GT4 and MSG2 > MSG3 in sales.

in sales MSG4 should be passing MSG3 soon,  and GT4 did 9.6 million and will be more heavily bundled than MSG4.

i can see GT5 easily over 2.4 million first week, but also have HUGE legs plus have DLC i can see it selling easily for 2 years. getting to 10 million when everything is said and done.

its THE Game in europe.

btw: halo 3 even it's not the best selling FPS Call of duty 4 is.

actually with a little more research it turns out there was only one halo 3 bundle released and that was in Europe for a very limited time. So yeah nearly all H3 sales are from unique copies.
