Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Will any other game ever beat Wii Sports as the greatest game ever

not only has wii sports proven that it is the highest selling, most immersive game out of every other game released but it also features unique controls, great graphics and stellar reviews.

I believe that a collection of games like this is truly ground-breaking. It's not a single lavish stand-alone game, neither is it a compilation of 100 different mini-games. It has no official licenses or endorsements, nor are there any famous people featured in it. It lives up to the initial concept of offering a revolutionary control method, a brand new type of game. Moreover, it contains five different games, all of which have been individually designed so the player never tires of them. I don't think there has ever been a collection of games quite like this.

do you think any other game in the history of videogaming will ever have the power to beat wii sports? My only guess is that Wii Sports Resort might come close.

think about it this way. metal gear solid 4, grand theft auto 4 and resident evil 5, the 3 biggest games of this generation so far, have not even sold 1/4 of what wii sports has combined.

In other words, developers should stop making titles like the above and focus on games like Wii Sports. But we don't want to tell them that because we don't want more imitating games. To conclude, Wii Sports is the greatest game ever, both visually, interactively, and most of all commercially. It makes AAA games like mgs4, gta4 and re5 look like trash. Every Wii owner should be proud to have such a game.

Back to my question, do you think any other game will have this power ever again??

prediction: wii to sell 150million console by end of 2010

You can't be serious...

EDIT: If you are serious, then you need a reality check. Greatest game ever is 100% subjective and the game is bundled with every Wii sold everywhere outside Japan.

you are going to get torn a new one...

but on subject I don't think any game this generation will come close to WiiSports sales (exspecially since WiiSports will continue to sell), but times change and in the future I am 100% positive another game will sell as much and more.

Currently dreaming of: DKC4 or Sonic the Hedgehog 4 (classic 2D platformers) for WiiWare, Smash Bros. for DSi, New Super Mario World for DSi, a Wii remake or true sequel of Final Fantasy Tactics.

One down, hopefully more awesomeness to come.

Sales yes........anything else........absolutely not!

Yes, there's a couple hundred games way better than Wii sports out there.

But, they will not beat it sales wise...

Edit: Is this a joke thread?

Just because it is the highest selling (even though its bundled) it does not mean its a good game....IMO it is a very crappy game...very repititive and boring....3/10

Predictions

GT5 will sell 3.2million + first week on ps3 (made 06 March 2010)

FFXIII Versus will have higher Metacritic scores than FFXIII after the first month.... Bet going on with perpride - loser changes sig for a month

KH3 will be PS3 EXCLUSIVE - willing to bet removal from vgchartz for a month

Nice. I wonder how long you'll last.

Qual é, Dadinho...?

Dadinho é o caralho! Meu nome agora é Zé Pequeno!

Wii sports its not a good game, it sells a lot, but you cant compare it with other great games. I understand why one could say Oot, FF7 or MGS4 could be greatest games of all time, but I cant see anything great in wiisports besides it sells a lot.

Sure, it's only a matter of time. All the most amazing and influential games get eclipsed at some point. It'll probably take at least a decade, though.
