Cave of ordeals was great!! But Gerudo desert has little else to offer.

Snow Peak has the snow boarding and a dungeon, and thats it!!!!

Further to other peoples comments... I loved to ocean/sailing stuff in Windwaker. It was clearly a Hyrule Field replacement but there is no reason why we cant have both in the next game. This would allow you to travel out of Hyrule into new territory.

Also like the time traveling (Ocarina of Time) and the switch between dark/light, again this could of had greater depth in TP so why not combine both like above!!

Give the ocean a FULL LIVING underwater city!! (not just a small community like under Lake Hylia!)

More voice acting would also be a plus, that was definitely missing from TP but it had great cinematics!

Another thread touched on how Hyrule felt under populated with the main Castle Town more like a village and generally a lake of life in the game world.

could have a hyrule roughly equivalent in size to OoT, but you can sail on the river from zoras domain through the castle into the lake, and then further out to sea where there are islands and such... then you could hire a submarine to go down to the undersea area [where you get some undersea clothes/suit] so we would have 3 distinct areas to explore; hyrule, island area and undersea.

Actually, if we were to leave the series in current form, there would have to be a war going on. A big war, something like LOTR. Still i have yet to witness a zlda 3d game, where there would be action sequences in some kind of evil forest.

Imagine it, walking slowly with weapons ready through a misty forest with a couple of soldiers. And bam! Arrows, rocks, shit the heaven scene! you defend and then the enemies start swarming in. And fight till the death of either side :D.

Next, graphics don't really play that much of a role this time around. I would rather expect more voice acting. more story, love situations and side quests.

Next up. ditch Ganondorf. How many times can the guy reincarnate? A war between neighbouring countries would be better and say that the court wizard is pulling the strings in order to get the triforce. Remeber the wizard from Link to the past? Why not use him this time?

Deep into the darkness pearing

Long i stood there

Wondering

Fearing

Doubting.

What TP lacked that OOT really had was romance, there needs to be more gals itching to get into Link's pants in this next game.

ok you can cry because if done correctly the game will be good, see FFXIII where main character is female.

Yes because another game with Yuna and guns is a great formula, oh wait that's right, they don't call her Yuna in FFXIII, she just looks almost identicle to her. I don't think anyone should be over-anxious about a game that is emerging at the peak of Square's artistic mediocrity and spin-off happy bindging. If PS3 graphics could save everything then LAir wouldn't have been a disaster.

Sign the Resident_Evil_5_Petition for a Wii release or Dark_Samus is going to come get you.

To be honest I don't get all the TP hate. It was solid where it mattered - gameplay. I also think that Zelda fans sometimes set their expectations ridiculously high. Every time a new Zelda comes out we expect it to blow OoT out of the water and get angry when it doesn't. That's hardly fair.

As for TP... I thught the game looked fine. Sure, it doesn't stack up visually against something like Heavenly Sword, but it was by no means ugly. Some people might not have liked the art style, but that's up to them. As for it being a port... would you have preferred the Wii to launch with nothing? Seriously, TP was a chance for them to test out the control scheme and try out some new things. Whether or not you liked the game, surely you can see the value in that.

Gballzack = lame.

Anyways... Y'know how everyone says that Okami would be perfect for Wii, because of the paintbrush thing?

Zelda on Wii simply needs to reinvent the items with the Wiimote, and in turn, invent new puzzles and give the game a new feel. It could be as simple as the camera switching to above Link when he pulls out a bomb, so that you can use the pointer to precision-throw them, or drawing the path along the floor to direct a Bomb-chu through multiple switches. Or, there could be one huge item like the paintbrush which lets you interact with anything via pointer. And all the ideas about an army/party could be done via pointer... Imagine summoning some undead soldiers with different abilities, and then having to direct them through a maze, solving multi-part puzzles for Link to advance. All you would do is point at the soldier you want, and then point at where they should go or what they should interact with.

Basically, I think some of you are thinking of superficial changes which really won't make the game feel new. Did sailing make the game feel new? Did turning into a wolf make the game feel new? Neither would most of the ideas in this thread.

"[Our former customers] are unable to find software which they WANT to play."
"The way to solve this problem lies in how to communicate what kind of games [they CAN play]."

Amen! Gamers have become so picky about the series that they can't seem to simply enjoy it any more.  3/4 of the posts in this thread are dedicated to drastically changing the series or just plain complaining about it.

The only thing I want from the next game is for Nintendo to come up with a really great Wii control scheme for it.  Everything else will be fine.

A zelda MMO with 1 2 1 sword fighting perhaps? donno, but i think we all agree that it needs a change in the current formula...not for the sake of it but to make it fresh again...kinda like what capcom did with RE4.. although zelda is my favourite series i felt that it needs to change after playing TP..

Start with this as a premise:

i) Ganondorf does something bad
ii) Lures Link into a trap
iii) Link ends up in some form of time/space portal...

...which takes him out of Hyrule completely, and dumps him in a completely different game environment/world.

What world would you like to see him in?

a) Time traveling Eternal Darkness setting
b) Resident Evil virus outbreak setting
c) Futuristic Halo/Mass Effect planetary war
d) Journey to the centre of the Earth setting
e) WWII scenario

The Zelda series needs a complete change of scenery. Hyrule has become predictable and stale, and needs a solid injection of original content and ideas.

A complete change of setting would provide the basis for new objects, new puzzles, new characters - and a lot of fun.

E. Ok you Nazi jerks, face the power of my magic BOOMERANG!

I saw somewhere the mention of wall climbing like in Assassins Creed; Shams might have said it. I really like that idea. Not only wall climbing, but just more interactivity with the environment. I'd love for you to be able to have a fight on multiple levels where you could go from roof to roof and then drop to the streets below and continue there. However, they'd have to balance that with the inaccessibility that is needed for natural puzzles (i.e. the rod of dominion ones in Hyrule field). Basically, the things I want in the next Zelda is 1) massive war, 2) harder bosses, 3) more varieties among monsters, and 4) more interactivity with the environment.

What Legend of Zelda needs is a big refresh.

Setting:  Wouldn't be near to modern day, but should be  few hundred years from current LoZ, like the renaissance and times when they have just introduced muskets so only a few elite Knights of Hyrule have them.

Link: Link should, of course, be the main focus of the game, but he should start out younger then TP (not as young as OOT) and end up around Fierce Diety's age. He should at one point lead a section of the Hylian army against some other army in a huge, epic battle. And when potraying Link and his expressions and such, he needs to always have that sense of emmense Courage and Bravery (due to the Triforce). He should never be frightened or unwilling for a battle. He always keeps a clear head, and is always on top of things whatever may came his way.

Ganondorf: Some people say to get rid of Ganondorf, but i think we should see more of him. In this Ganondorf should be reincarnated and around the same age as Link. We could get to see how Ganondorf grew up and had some sort of change with the Triforce of Power and see more of his emotions and life and if he truly is evil. Show what it's like to grow up for Ganondorf and his connection with the Triforce and the Goddesses. They should have parts where Ganondorf first realizes the power of the Triforce of Power and then uses it to brutally annihilate something/one and then be currupted by the power.Show why he's the true main antagonist.

Zelda: She's the ruler of all Hyrule. Make her more important, give her a bigger role. Not just "Link save me and/or Hyrule and maybe i'll help you out in the end". She should always be wise, alsways knowing what to do, even though at times she may not be able to accomplish the tasks herself.

The Game needs to be very epic, have a feel of a huge world to explore and traverse in. The battles with the Army need to be epic, the parts when your alone with Link need to be very challengin, the Bossess need to Huge and Hard, and the story needs to be deep. Voice acting is a must (no need to make Link speak at all, ever) and improved AI is needed too. It would do good to make the towns bigger with more people to talk to and stuff (doesn't matter what crap they say, but it adds to the epicness), and there should be tons of sidequests. 1:1 controls (or as close as) would be a brilliant addition, and when using the bow, we need the precision of Prime 3, or even better. And finally, riding with Epona must feel like an awesome adventure riding into a world with adventure.

This isn't impossible people. This just takes the care and time that Nintendo normally puts into thier main games.
