FF7 hands down
SO4 is more "emo" (in a negative sense) than FF7 in my opinion - I didn't play SO4, but I watched almost all the cut-scenes
I don't know if it's the "most emo rpg of all time" though, because I only played a few RPGs

Is Lost Odyssey really that good? Damn. I need to get my hands back on my 360, then. If the former definition listed here, I can't really think of one offhand. If the "genuinely emotional and touching" one, then it's Mother 3, hands down, no questions asked. |
You can gather "dreams" in the game, that are essentially short novels that detail past experiences of Kaim (and sometimes of the other immortals). Several of these are heartbreaking, to say the least.

Damn, really? I loved reading all the extra lore that was included in the FFXII bestiary. Me and the fiance are going to be on this when she gets back from Taiwan.
FF7 is the most emo in a bad way.
FF8 was emo in a poorly written way.
Winner FF7.
as a side note. Midgard is one of the best awesome gritty fictional cities ever.
Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.
.Hack series, ESPECIALLY GU, there always screaming an crying

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.
Bad emo : Hack//G.U., but Lost Odyssey comes very close.
Good Emo : Legend Of Dragoon
