The PS3 will never catch the Wii and will never be as successful as the PS2. Just compare the sales of the PS2 and the PS3:
Comparison between PS2 and PS3 from Launch. How much units of the PS2 were sold at this point last Generation
Japan:
- PS2: 9.5 million
- PS3: 3 million
A 6.5 million gap!
Others:
- PS2: 15 million
- PS3: 10.2 million
A 4.8 million gap!
North America:
- PS2: 19.2 million
- PS3: 8.3 million
A 10.9 million gap!
--> Worldwide: A 22.2 million gap!!!
GT5 better sell like Brett to push that many consoles.
Final Fantasy won't move that much PS3s outside of Japan, since it is multiplat in NA and Europe. Resident Evil 5 pushed the Xbox360 more than it pushed the PS3. People that buy a console for a certain game, will chose the cheaper product to play their game.
The only battle is between PS3 and Xbox360, which isn't that interesting, when you think about it. Most games are multiplat anyway, and the difference won't be huge at the end. Who cares the Xbox outsold the Gamecube last gen?
And Uncharted² or inFamous won't move any systems at all. Not saying those games are bad.
