Besides, I love how you compare PSP's sale to Wii in Japan while not comparing PSP to DS or PS3 to Wii. Great job!

 

 

     I've compared PS3's sales to the Wii (it has been beating Nintendo's Wii the last five weeks) and I've also pointed out that it's no big deal for the PSP to post better sales in any given week  than the DS in Japan.  As a matter of fact it's pretty much been a given to expect the PSP to beat the DS in Japan.

     I will admit that I was too lazy to go back and edit that post to put FFXIII as pretty much a Summer 2010 exclusive for the PS3 in Japan.  However, by the time it arrives in the Summer of 2010, the PS3 will be at 6 or 7 million PS3's sold in Japan while the 360 probably won't have passed 1,350,000 consoles sold in Japan by that date.

     And did you even listen to the words of the song, I think that "you've got to lose to know to win' describes where  Sony is at in this gen pretty well.  And they're going to know how to win enough to finish second among all consoles and first among the hd consoles by the time this gen is over.

 

What the hell? Don't you remember, like, two pages ago where somebody informed you that this is wrong, and you had to resort to some nonsense about the PSP outselling the Wii?

     I'm never surprised when I look at the Japanese sales data and the PSP has outsold the DS there.

And it's not nonsense that the PSP outsells the Wii in Japan.  Look at the front page.  52,000 > 18,000.

@BTFeather: Yes, but outselling the Wii has fuck all to do with outselling the DS. That was a textbook example of goalpost-moving on your part.

      I wasn't moving the goalpoasts because sales of the Wii, DS, and PSP are irrelevant to the discussion being had here.  The only goalposts I see are that the PS3 will have 5 to 7 million consoles sold in Japan as a result of Final Fantasy XIII, Versus XIII, and Gran Turismo 5 while when the PS3 hits these numbers, the 360 is still going to have sold at most only 250,000 more units than it has currently sold as of now in Japan.

Sony fanboys in this thread are threatened by TV Calibration 2 for the Xbox 360. They won't admit it, but its something which gives them night sweats.

Sorry guys, the game is coming, just deal with it or jump in. Its as simple as that.

I did my share of hating on the PS3...........that is until I bought one.....but that is neither here nor there. I have ceased my crusade against the 360 and would probably buy one if it weren't for the fact that I am pennyless at the moment. What I found when I looked at all 3 consoles, is that I love them all! Anyone that could find fault in a console because of the companies business model is missing the point. Who cares if Microsoft was intent on losing money its first 5 years in the business. Who cares if Nintendo caters to their base. Who cares if the PS3 costs too much. In the end, once you get past all the BS, what you are left with are three of the best consoles ever made pumping out really good games. I think we should all be striving to get all three!

@bolded: S'plain? I said "bitter" anti-Sony fan, so if you aren't bitter you wouldn't be doing the things the OP says he is seeing.

 

Unlike yourself, I own all 3 consoles so why would I be bitter, the way I see it, I can't lose.  Ignorance is the blanket generalisation of assuming everyone who doesn't like Sony's strategy is somehow threatened by the PS3 or hating on them.  Also what the OP sees is completely different to what is actually going on in many peoples opinions it would seem in this thread.  When the most neutral posters on here dispute the guys ability to even have a unbiased sensible conversation without switching the points he's debating when losing then you have to question his ability to make such a generalised statement regarding a group of users.

theyre not threatened its just alot of your numbers are nothing more than assumptions that will probably be way off. Why dont you talk about the sales of FFXIII and GT5 after they release and then use some proof.



I mostly play RTS and Moba style games now adays as well as ALOT of benchmarking. I do play other games however such as the witcher 3 and Crysis 3, and recently Ashes of the Singularity. I love gaming on the cutting edge and refuse to accept any compromises. Proud member of the Glorious PC Gaming Master Race. Long Live SHIO!!!!
