wow, so many great announcements of games and price cuts today, even E3 doesn't have this many news, what is so special about today?

The fact that it's April Fool's Day

"In early 2008, Factor 5 officially announced to work on Nintendo platforms again. Even though they ported Star Wars Rogue Squadron: Rebel Strike to Wii, they still decided to put a little bit more effort into an entirely new project. For that reason the team recreated parts of the Lair engine on Wii."

Um, no they didn't.  At least try to make it believable, people.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

Wii/Mario Kart Wii Code:2793-0686-5434

@ kitchensink

my interpretation is that it was an internal project, but they didnt release it because they wanted an entirely new project.

If this is an April Fool's joke, you have to edit your sig.

(It's out of date)

A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

Of course you didn't

@Woopah: I'm not saying that they aren't making a Wii game (they obviously are), but I doubt the credibility of this article, personally.  They announced Wii games in development long ago.

whats wrong with the article? most of it we know is true anyway. and the rest seems reasonably likely

so do you think this is an april fools or not?

According to gaf, it was probably done as an internal experiment, to figure out the inner workings of the system.  Considering how similar the GC is to the Wii, it wouldn't have been that hard.

I'm not ruling this out as being real.

"It's not just what a lot of people were expecting. 'Oh, we're going to cash in on what we had from Rebel Strike.' Which we actually also did. That was a fun experience just to bring that game over and play it on Wii. Nevertheless, we said, well, weighing the pros and cons, why don't we do something completely new based on all the experience we had back then? So, that's almost done."
