What does everyone think? I say the Wii shots hold up pretty well, even though the PS3 version is clearly better, it's not as big a difference as I expected.

*ducks*

Remember that the PS3 shots are much bigger too...so the Wii shots wouldn't hold up anywhere near an HD shot...but for the Wii they're fine.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

Aaaaaand most people don't have an HDTV.

Are the graphics as good as the 500 FPS and 18000p of Cruis'n?

Aaaand a lot of PS3 owners will play PS3 on HDTVs...so compare the PS3 NFS in HD to the Wii game in SD, and there's your comparison.

Like I said, it looks great for Wii, but the PS3 looks even better at the same size, let alone when you actually open the fullsize image.

Looking at those videos on ign: Either the guy driving is really bad or the controls are way too loose. My guess, a combination of the two. I have Carbon and I found the controls to be pretty good once you set the options to tight, otherwise there was a pretty serious delay in steering.

On topic. It looks great. I have a hard time believing that the first two screens are real time shots on the Wii.

@all - the screens are definitely Wii, and definitely in-game.

My only question is the frame rate - I find EA tend to show off pretty visuals and sacrifice frame rate - which sucks. Racing games in particular need a steady, high (60fps) frame rate. I'll rather play with a better frame rate and crappier gfx thanks.

The frame rate looked pretty decent in the off-screen videos on IGN.

Are those Wii graphics? Wow, those look like Playstation 3 graphics.

Racing games reached their graphical peak last generation. GT3/GT4 looked great - the cars looked awesome.

Apart from having heaps of cars on the track, cranking up the detail in backgrounds, or modeling uber-fine detail (and interiors) - there just isn't much more you can do in a car game.

There is no reason why a well-made racing game for the Wii couldn't look awesome.
