i expect gaming then to be close to virtuality (holo-deck in Star Trek) but don't quite yet live up to realism

Now that would be very nice!

That's only in 10 years ... I think that there will be no major change. Maybe more online (DL full games etc).

In the gaming industry 10 years is a long time IMHO.  Major breakthroughs and changes in trends develop constantly.  Especially now that we have mastered electronics...

Just seen something on the Discovery channel, looked very cool. You can control the movements with someone with this device. It looks like a set of ear muffs over your ears and that's it, then another person can control the direction you walk with a remote control (but of course it's not really forcing you, if you were told to go left but you wanted to go right you can, its only if your not really paying much attention, or allowing it to make you go where the guy controlling you wants).

Anyway later on he was demontrating that you can hook this up to a racing game, and when you cut corners the game makes you lean to one side or the other to give the feel that your actually driving (pretty cool). Also he said he wanted to use it as a GPS, if you can't read a map you can use this device and it'll make you go where you have to get to (really cool).

I'm sure something like that will be included in something one day, but I'm sure virtual reality will start around then, next generation will be the last generation with consoles.

I read an article a long time ago, and it was about what 70 years in the future would look like for video games, and the guy that made the article came up with some really interesting concepts, and he had proof that it may turn out the way he said to, so it was VERY interesting (by the year 2070 or something like that, he was saying people can have some kind of chip in the brain, and they will be actually to go into a virtual reality place, like the internet or a game, kinda like that PS9 commerical). I'll try to find the article, but I dought I'll find it.

I already do this  (don't quite know why)

Great post!  Thanks!

and just to add, at the rate we’re doubling the size and speed of drives and chipsets we’re bound to duplicate the computing skills of a human mind sooner than we might think... plus who actually knows what kind of technology the government has they have not release as of yet (may it due to affordability or security, who really knows?!
