Hey guys, My integrated sound card is all fucked up so I want a new one.  Just a few quick questions.  I want to hook it up to my reciever (Kenwood VR-506...outdated I know) and my computer speakers.  Now I want the best sound for my stereo, which I use just for music, not for gaming.

So:

What kind of soundcard should I buy

What kind of cables are used for best sound quality, that my reciever can use and that soundcards support

What kind of setup should i have on my soundcard.  Should I just use a 2 speaker format and split the audio?

I'm sorry i know this is alot to ask, but sound is my technological Achilles heel.

Edit- I found some souncards that have optical out, would my music benefit from this??
