 In order to add someone to your friends list in a Wii or DS online game you have to enter their friend code and they have to enter yours. Nintendo seems to have a policy against games allowing any text or voice chat between anyone who hasn't already exchanged friend codes.

 It's a hassle, but it is kind of understandable since parents groups would rape Nintendo if they offered a service like Live that could potentially expose children to foul-mouthed players (who as it happens are themselves children) and strangers with candy.

I hope theres at least an 8 player online racing mode for MKWii!!!

Wasn't this supposed to be the big surprise? Sixteen player online Kart sounds pretty shhweeeet to me.

why aren't there more Mii support even from nintendo games? sigh. they're my favorite characters.

During the E3 2006 Keynote Iwata joked about kicking Reggies ass in Smash Brothers online once the Wii was launched. Nintendo better deliver online for Smash Brothers Brawl.

16 Player battle may include the the 2 players per kart. Technically that would be 8 cart races online and 2 players/kart per console.

All this talk about Mario Kart online 16 players, 1st to do is is kinda wrong. The next Metal of Honor game will feature 32 player online and according to IGN will give Metroid Prime 3 a run for its money in the controls department.

2008 will the be the year Live goes down!!! ok maybe not, but it will finally showcase what Wii's online capabilities are.

Brawl with 8+ players with "Last one standing" mode would be awesome.
