GoW2 didnt barely break the 1 million , it had preorders of 1 million and in the US alone it had passed that number loooong ago . Seeing that GoW CoO is a brand new GoW game , and it comes at the middle of the consoles lifespam ( or even earlier ) while GoW 2 came at the end ... well I dont know whos the crazy now . Many new buyers first choice for a game will be CoO . Also , the 10 year old game is still one of the most popular of all , so dont underastimate the FF serie . Also , untill CC will see the US and EU shores , the PSP numbers will pass by looong time the 30 million mark . Even people whom buy there PSP just for pirating games , they all buy at least 1 game ... and be shure it wont be Pocket Racers .

Please. Let's finish with this spin-off argument... Do you think PSP owners should wait for FFXV or FFXIV? Here goes a little hint - there won't be main game of the franchise neighter for PSP nor DS... It's a brand new game in FFVII universe. Good one. Title isn't important for me. Probably this game will be worth your money too...

And speaking of spinoffs ... IMO Samurai Warriors is much batter than Dinasty Warriors ... woops , but its a spinoff ... no s**t ... yes it is . The fact that the DS gets DQ9 as exclusive will only last untill the PS3 gets some ground in Japan . Also , if you dont want Spinoffs , there are plenty games that moved there main series to the PSP , or if your a huge oldschool FF fan , than go and buy FF I & II , because ... well you know ... there are both on the PSP . People , the spinoff and piracy argument is old , and many games proved that they can do well on the PSP , even as a spinoff or even as the #1 pirated game on the system .

Did Leo-J seriously say FF7:CC will get 10million WW? Something that no Final Fantasy game has ever achieved?
The recent final fantasies haven't even made it to 8million, let alone 10. He really thinks a FF game on the psp can out perform a FF game on the ps2?

Oh and also GTA is currently a FAR bigger franchise than FF. Gta3/VC/SA all sold over 11million copies. The best selling FF game ever sold just under 10million. Recent FF's have sold much worse. FFX is at just under 8million, X-2 is at 5.2million, 12 is at 4.94million.

Oh and Hunter_alien the DS is near the PS2's lifetime sales in Japan. The ps3 is selling much worse than the PS2, came out much later than the ds and costs FAR more to develop for. Why would they shift development to the PS3? Even assuming a miracle happened and the PS3 managed to sell as well as the ps2 in Japan by the time it achieved that it would still be HUGELY behind the DS.

SE will shift development away from the PS3 not towards it.

The DS is just half of the PS2s number in Japan , dont be a #^%$*@ , please ... I dont want to insult you , but how can you say such a thing ? FF didnt sell so well on the PS2 because there was a huge library of awesome games , while the PSP hasnt . I agree that 10 million is much , but it will probably sell like crazy ... if not than ... well Il get something to say in 2 weeks , that I still havent figured out :P

In fact I will be buying the game. I'm sure you can tell from my previous posts that I play every FF game, mostly because I love RPGs.

hunter_alien the PS3 will never in it's lifetime sell as much in Japan as the DS has to this point. Ever. I will bet my entire collection of games on that. The PS3 will never ever even come close. The DS will easily surpass the PS2's Japanese sales, but the PS3 will never in 5 years, 10 years, whatever BS lifespan Sony tells you it has, break the 19 million the DS has right now. Oh and 19 million is more than half of 25 million. In 2 and a half years the DS has gotten more than 3/4 of the PS2's sales in 7 years. It will absolutely pass it, and it will probably pass it within a year.

I didn't buy FFI and FFII on the PSP because it's a huge ripoff. I already have Dawn of Souls on the GBA. You know how much I paid for that game? $10, and it comes with both FFI and FFII. It would have cost my $65 total with tax to buy FFI and FFII separately on the PSP for some slightly improved graphics.

What games have moved their main series to the PSP? Oh yeah, none. Believe me, I know. I own one. The PSP has shit for 3rd party support. SE is making 8 PSP games, and 6 of them are f**king remakes of their old damn games. They are making 17 DS games and 5 of them are remakes of their old games. You tell me which system has the most 3rd party support. The reason I know is because I own a PSP. I see the shit it gets for games. I just bought the 6th game I own for my PSP a week ago (Jeanne D'Arc). You know how many I have bought for my DS? 27, and I have owned both the same amount of time. That's not to say I don't like my PSP. I love it to play my roms of my old games, after all there isn't room in my tiny apartment for all those systems. As far as 3rd party support though the PSP's is completely freaking pathetic. Especially in RPGs.

PS2 total : 22,055,348 from weekly numbers or 25.42 million from hardware totals(which I expect is shipped figures not sold, as it also has the ps3 at 5.50million worldwide at the end of march 2007 and the psp at 25million as of march 2007. Niether system has sold anywhere near that much worldwide yet, let alone as of march 2007)

You have some interesting maths if you think that's half. The DS will reach if not surpass the PS2 by the end of this year. The PS3 will surpass neither ever. What the hell could possibly give you the impression that japanese developers will start targetting the PS3 over the DS? 

I think there is a decent chance this game could pull a million in Japan. Monster Hunter 2 did.
