Please don't feel sorry for me.  It's really insulting.

Also, YOU weren't a monkey.  Don't lose any sleep over it.

Religion should come from the parents, not from the public education system.  Unless you want to convince the American people that they all need to pay a Christian tax to finance the teaching of Christian creationism and finance the rejection of not only science, but all other religions and all other forms of creationism.

And when you take micro evolution, and have really tiny changes, but then extend that across a timeline of hundreds of millions and billions of years, the macro evolution that changes entire species is not only logical, but inevitable.

Ok for all those against evolution and who ask how you can replicate and observe it here's a thought to ponder:

Drug resistant bacteria. Please explain to me how bacteria went from being utterly decimated and annihilated by antibiotics, to taking it in stride without even flinching? Obviously evolution had nothing to do with it and god himself came down and gave his divine protection to the bacteria, right?

 1) All the weaker varients were wiped out, leaving only the ones that were always stronger to have a monopoly on victims.  For example, there are 2 groups of dogs living somewhere (for lack of a better place).  One group is short-haired, the other long-haired.  One year the temperature drops, and the short-haired dogs die, and only the long-haired ones are left.

2) Random mutation of a certain strain allowed it an advantage against anitbiotics (and I'm going to assert here that random mutation does not equal evolution).  For instance, a certain bacteria experiences a mutation that disables it ability to produce a substance that counters penicillin, and thus begans producing huge and uncontrolled quantities of this anti-antibiotic.  Now, penicillin can't hurt it.  On the other hand, the bacteria is now producing massive amounts of this stuff and is potentially wasting resources in the event of an absence of penicillin.

I always thought evolution happened through random mutation that was beneficial and thus made the creature more likely to pass it's genes on to the next generation...

What you described there is evolution.

DING DING DING

Yes evolution is supposed to happen through random mutation.  What I mean (and is generally meant) by evolution (not that insanely broad "descent with modification" definition) is not present in my description, and to discuss what evolution is would be a huge topic, something I am not willing to start here.  So, again, I am going to assert evolution is not random mutation + natural selection, and I'll leave it at that.

WTFWTFWTF?

Asserting things that are outside reality is not my bag man.

That's the darwin model of evolution you described, or is this some deep satire?

Cognitive Dissonance

1.Tell me what you think god is so I can know if I can feel sorry for you. I believe in 'source' or 'big mind' or 'godhead' from various philosophies I've heard, and I agree that this concept might exist.

2.Tell me what you think god is so I can know if it's respectable.

3.You're a quick one to judge those that are godless. It's just a different word view, it's no worse.

4.God doesn't matter. Only being a good person, and using logic.

5.Now about evolution, don't you think that over the course of millions of years small changes could amount to large changes? That's all evolution is really about. How can you disagree with the concept?

6.No, you did not use to be a monkey. You had a common ancestor with a monkey. There is a difference. You are highly ignorant to science. Creationism is unproven and should not be taught in school. Evolution IS proven, beyond doubt, and should be taught in school.

firs off too your response on page 6 i can easily go and dig out my science book and quote a couple of lines, but i dont want to.

i numbered your questions so it would be easier too answer.

1.i feel that god is a powerful being that could do whatever that he wants,

2.i feel that this is the same question as one

3.not really a question now is it (my bad)

4. being a good person is important(but im not seeing much logic here)but i know alot of christians who just lead good lifes but screw them up with drugs and sex. in fact i have a friend he is the coolest, smartest, nicest guys but he got this girl pregnant and now his whole life is screwed.

5. i believe in microevolution, i thought i stated that before.anyways according to my faith we have not been on earth for a million years :p

6. i am a science major, i took both creationism and darwinism in high school i have too say i found creationism to be more believable.and at that time i was not a christian,so dont say i was biased.

Yay, Texas Freedom Network. Those Bible flingers lost Whooo Hoooo!

When people talk about evolution being a theory they don't mean that it is a theory like someone saying, "I have a theory that Wii HD will be announced at E3 based on the prickling of my thumb."

Evolution isn't a "theory" with a small "t" which is actually just a hypothesis ie. an educated guess. Evolution is a "Theory" with a capital "T" meaning we know it occurred and the world isn't just 6,000 years old and created by the Old Jewish man and that carpenter son of his in seven days.

Evolution is a "Theory", and not yet a Law, only because it hasn't been conclusively proven that "Natural Selection" and "Survival of the Fittest" are the only mechanisms that drive it.

Two can play this game.

I'm sorry youa re so ignorant to believe in something as ridiculous as god. I'm sorry you need a crutch like that to keep your miserable life together and to bring sense to it.

Secondly, Macro evolution came from micro evolution,

Thirdly, micro and macro evolution is bullshit you just came up with. It's all evolution.

i guess im the only one that took 8th grade science, i learned about this stuff in um this thing called school maybe you went.

Obviously you went to some retarded school where they didnt teach that "macro" is just a string of "micro." Probably some christian school I guess....

no i went to a public school that taught both, and i took both in the same semester(i didnt take gym).i was not biased at the time i was not even going to church.now i will defend what i believe.

Congrats on the salmon :)

@vlad and wessle

As I said, evolution entails more than RM and NA (both concepts I fully agree with).  For example;

Ape-> Man.   Not implied by RM and NA, whereas it is by evolution.  And that's all I'm going to say about it here.

Why should they teach creationism? There's not a single fact supporting it as a valid explanation. Even in the extremely unlikely event that actual factual proof was found that invalidated evolution, creationism remains without anything backing it besides mainstream religions in the USA believing on it. Reaching that point, teachers should just teach their pupils that we do not know how we came to be and then move onto something else.

There have been many holy books and a ton of creation myths laid out by major religions through the history of men. People bullying society to have their own version of the creation myth pushed into schools not only are eroding the minds of children by teaching them closed monolithic dogmas instead of open scientific hypothesis and theories which can be proven false but also are exercising violence against members of other religions who do not share the same creation myth.

What's next after creationism gets pushed into schools? Mormons believe on an alternate history of the Americas that differs from the one build upon solid evidence after centuries of research. Should we teach kids in history class about the "scientific history of the Americas" and then lecture them about the Book of Mormon?

I'm sure the evangelical crowds behind these schemes would be thrilled to have their kids tapped by the Church of Jesuchrist and the Latter Day Saints.
