Forums - Nintendo Discussion - The Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn Thread

(First topic!)

Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn is an upcoming Turn-Based Strategy game being released for the Wii this November, and brings with it, in my opinion, one of the deepest and most enthralling storylines ever. Radiant Dawn is the sequel to the Gamecube title, Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, and offers many improvements over its predecessor, including smoother visuals, more action-oriented FMV's, an improved battle system, and a longer campaign with larger maps.

The game takes place three years after Path of Radiance, and continues the storyline unbelievably well, exceeding all of my previous expectations. Unlike some generic medieval RPG's, the storyline isn't straightforward, and contains many unpredictable plot twists and additions that all link together to create a truly epic experience.

I've always been a fan of the series, and I've played every game with the exception of Thracia, so this is a must-buy for me. It uses three different controller configurations: A Wiimote on its side, the classic controller, or the GC controller for those who are familiar with the Path of Radiance setup. I don't expect this game to sell very well, but it really is a great game and it's guaranteed to satisfy any story driven gamers.

Makes me want to try Fire Emblem!

I'm definitely going to play it. I really liked Path of Radiance. Unfortunately, it's probably going to wait until next year sometime as the rest of this year looks to be jam packed with games I have to play. Of course, there's about 12 other Fire Emblem games that I completely missed out on already, so if I ever feel the need, there's always about 200 hours of my life I can go lose. :p

can't wait for this game, i remember when path of radience was released over here in the uk bought the only copy that GAME had and it took up so many hours of my life because of course i had to complete it on the hardest difficulty settig, plus i wanted to go back and kick the black knights ass since i couldn't manage it 1st time round!

but more then likely fire emblem for the wii will eat hours of my life again and probably make me 4get to hand in my university dissertation... but thats how life is :(

It's a shame they haven't removed the Bonus experience. It's become more flawed now that most of the characters have decent growths, since the BEXP is guaranteed to give three stats.

Agreed. In hindsight, I found that it unbalanced the GC game completely. Unfortunately, once I had finished the game - I didn't see much point to playing it again.

I will probably skip this - maybe rent it later, or borrow from a friend. I do enjoy it, but can't justify it as a purchase this year.

There are also a heap of quality 2D turn-based games (VC) I intend to play - and I could probably buy them all for the price of this single game.

Well its a first day purchase for me. I was hoping it would see a release during the summer drought but its coming out now the worst time of the year. Between it, Blue Dragon, and Eternal Sonata I am going to be RPG'ed out by the end of the year.
