I dont think it will go multiplatform coz 1)it will piss of mg fans 2)kojima wont allow it 3)bcoz the quality wont be the same

Being a cricket fan is much simpler and more fun

kojima said he wouldnt mind the series going multi plat to reach all the fans since the beginning of the series. however he said he would have a hard time porting it to the 360. So if mgs5 uses the mgs4 engine and is at least the same size and makes lots of blu-ray, ps3 and apple refrences and does not give the main character a zune then its probably not gonna happen. plus royalties for discs would be a huge costs, so profit will be limited on the the 360. Also majority of the fanbase is on the ps3.
multiplt does not mean more profit btw, if a team spends more time trying to make 2 versions that studio needs more funding for longer to complete the game. so more time= more cost.

Series going downhill?
Either my sarcasm detectors broke or your being silly

Yep, that's how I think it is. Especially story-wise the series has been going downhill. MGS1 was a balanced experience in all ways, with an excellent story. MGS2 had an excellent story as well, although many people think it's complicated and relied on cutscenes too much. Those two are the best games in the series in my opinion. They didn't have any major negatives.

MGS3 wasn't nearly as good due to its lack of radar despite its old camera angle; this was fixed in Subsistence, but it still didn't feel quite right as it wasn't designed to be like that from the beginning. Now, the story was good and cutscenes were well balanced but I think the story was nothing special until the end - until then, it had felt more like progressing to the end of the game instead of progressing the story. The story was too simple. And, possibly an opinion, the setting didn't feel like MGS. Sure, it was tied to the series but it just felt like it was too much apart from the other games... And now that I remember it, most bosses had no personality - they were boring.

And MGS4? Gameplay had been improved, that's true, but it had also become too action-oriented. It didn't feel quite right for the series. If I wanted a shooter, I'd play one. Story-wise MGS4 is definitely the worst game in the series. I liked it in the beginning but the closer to the end I got, the more awkward it felt. Besides, the story was pretty simple in the end and it didn't even leave any questions. Did I forget to mention the cutscenes? I don't really mind having so many long cutscenes but many seem to have forgotten them in MGS4 but still hate them in MGS2. Also, I must mention again that the bosses were boring - this time they had lost not only their personality, but the fights too.

And a few more things about MGS4 (could include a few SPOILERS). Nanomachines weren't too good although I didn't feel they were as bad as everyone said. Johnny was a mistake since the very beginning - he should have been left as a joke. Just running through the areas wasn't good - they felt very useless, boring. It was like they served no purpose. Bringing pretty much every surviving character from the previous games and then killing many of them needlessly was no fun.

They're all good games, don't get me wrong about that. It's just that MGS1 and MGS2 are far superior compared to MGS3 and especially MGS4. It just feels like Kojima has simplified the later games too much (well, there's probably more to it).

I might say something about MGS5 too, as I didn't say much last time. Although I'd like it to remain PS3-exclusive (don't know why), I think Konami is going to release it on both platforms. After all, they don't have to worry about having said it'll run on the PS3 only and can't be done on the 360; or that it will be released on the PS3 only.

I can't see y go exclusive again, in fact I am not a fan o mgs but it will be great if all people could have the chance to play it, if we taking in account that nowadays exclusives are not systems sellers at all... Well expect some titles on xbox360 till now.

MGS4 simplified ?
Sorry but you have no ideea what you are talking about. It is the most thematically and ideologicaly complex in the series, and almost mind bendingly intricate in its analysis and conclusions.
Also the fact that "you" didn't like the outcome and the involvement of some characters doesn't make the story and the overall achievement less amazing.

The undeniable fact is that MGS4 is the most critically acclaimed in the series since the first one, with more awards and nominations than any of the previous titles.

Actually, despite all the negative feedback from the Raiden haters, MGS 2 has been extremely well received as well. It received a lot of awards and currently sit at a smooth 97 on metacritic.

Yeah, well, they're all great ^_^

Honestly, if i'm looking at the wiki page awards for MGS4 there are 10 times more and there are tons not even listed.

But thats not the point, the point is that this is one series that not only maintained the exceptional quality through out the years, but managed to constantly improve with each new game.

I'd personally love to see an updated Sub version on Xbox360 and PS3.

The Lowpoint in the series is arguably 2 and 3 but 1 and 4 cant be doubted as they are master pieces

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

I still don't see the link between Kojima and PS3...

It's called loyalty.

Kojima has always stayed loyal to the Playstation brand and the Playstation brand has always been good for him. No wonder why the first four games were exclusive (with the exception of some bogus timed exclusivity that didn't really matter anyway).

Hello!?!? Kojima doesnt work for Sony but for Konami and last time I checked he didn own the company.

And this is relevent because ?

And the reason why MGS1-3 went to playstation is quite simple PS1 = 102 millions unit sold, PS2 = 125 millions unit sold.

You really think the userbase is the only reason why Kojima released those games on Playstation ?

As for MGS4 when they made the game they were expecting the PS3 to be the dominant console again....and we know what happens.

No, they made it for PS3 because they knew their fanbase would stick with Sony (which they did).

Yes the only reason of the exclusivity was the PS1-PS2 userbase. And if the MGS fanbase is sticking with Sony why PS3 sales are just at 22 mlns????

The reason the kojima realeases his games on the ps3 is because he believes that the ps3 is the dominant console and he said himself he refuses to water down his games to make them work on a less powerful console. According to kojima. Ps3 is the movie theather and xbox 360 is the dvd player and he wants his games to stay in the movie theater. It has nothing to do with userbase. MGS never sell that well anyway and this one is selling just as well as the others....

BUT!!!

Like kojima said, he will most likely not be involved in this metal gear game so weather or not it will stay just on ps3 is really up to weather or not kojima works on the game to imo
