PlayStation can't be the strongest brand name considering that Nintendo is.

see my reason above, its the main reason.

if Nintendo won the last two generations they would have the stronger brand name. Sadly, Nintendo never had a strong brand name. SEGA had an equally strong name before the PS1 came to market. After this generation Nintendo will finally truly have the strongest brand name. They just need to expand the market like the PS2 did.

Sorry but that just negated the rest of your posts. You can't argue whether or not Nintendo si the strongest brand name when you're under the misconception that Nintendo never had a strong brand name.

I disagree....Nintendo re-invented videogaming after the 1983 videogame crash. Without Nintendo, there is no Playstation to talk about. Also, Nintendo has been making consoles for 24 years compared to Sony Playstation's 15 years.

I guess anyone over 25 yo probably thinks of Nintendo as the strongest name and gamers under 25 probably sway towards the Playstation brand. So you can guess I'm older than 25

I agree that Playstation is the strongest. However, Nintendo is near them, remember, Nintendo RULES the handheld market.

Ummm...Nintendo also rules the console market. Where have you been the last few years?

My personal opinion is that any other console would have failed at the PS3's price point guaranteed , Ninty heavily relied on consumers justifiying spending a small amount on a console with a weaker brand name at the begining of the generation , not things are different. Nintendo has definetley picked up more momentum this generation with the Wii but people are severley understestimating the strength of the Playsation brand name.

I wouldn't be suprised if Sony returned to the top next gen infact I think it's probable they will be, they've learnt their lessons and have most likely revised their stratergies , their biggest downfall was pricing IMO and they won't let that be an issue this time round.

The Atari logo in the movie "Bladerunner" wants to have an long chat with the original poster. After the Atari logo is done, Sonic on the cover of Wired Magazine, which discussed how Sega will take over the world, also want to chat with the original poster.

After those, then comes Mario.

in america xbox is a more superior brand than playstation...i remember it in this survey by Forbes or sumtin.

Sorry. "Wii" is by far the strongest brand name in video games. It is so strong that it's become even stronger than Nintendo. Everyone in every age group talks about the Wii.

Nope.. Nintendo is a way stronger brand now... not only because of the Wii.. more because of the DS...
how else did it shoot up into place 40? http://www.interbrand.com/best_global_brands.aspx?langid=1000 ... the force is strong with Nintendo.. playstation brand is reconised in a smaller segment of people then Nintendo...

I think Playstation is a stronger brand name than Nintendo or Wii.

Nintendo have the strongest "brand" name no contest whatsoever.

Hell I would say that the name "Mario" is even bigger then what playstation is.
