Nintendo once had a name (actually two: Nintedo, Gameboy) that was synonomous with gaming. Yes, it meant that they were leaders, but easily replaced. Sony doesn't make any money if your frieds call their cheaper, virtually interchangable 360s Playstations. I think it unlikely that many people call anything but a Wii a Wii or anything but a DS a DS. Maybe Playstation is recognized, but Wii cannot.be confused, substituted or forgotten.

Who has the most recognized iconic exclusive character? Nintendo has Mario Sony has? and MS has? Sony had all that time at the top to develop Sack Boy and MS has Master Chief if you asked non-gamers who those three character were who do you think would be most recognized? I'm sorry but Nintendo is gaming that is all they do they don't make PC software and they don't make TV's. If I say Sony to a non-gamer Playstation isn't guaranteed to be the first thing that comes to mind and Microsoft is in the same boat with Xbox. BUT, if I say Nintendo even non-gamers will say Mario and Wii. The proof of Nintendo's strength is the fact its characters have managed to stay deeply embedded in the public conscious even with Sony's former sales domination.

I never used playstation to speak about video games. in the coutry I was born(France but I live in UK),playstation is for and used essentially by bully and people who haven't a good education at least it was like that when I lived there.

Where i live usually only hear people saying lets go play xbox. Of course i am in USA but i think among "hardcores" if thats what you want to call them i as far as America goes Xbox is a stronger brand name



I mostly play RTS and Moba style games now adays as well as ALOT of benchmarking. I do play other games however such as the witcher 3 and Crysis 3, and recently Ashes of the Singularity. I love gaming on the cutting edge and refuse to accept any compromises. Proud member of the Glorious PC Gaming Master Race. Long Live SHIO!!!!
