Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Rumor: Lost Odyssey 2 GDC/E3 Announcement?

Having the abbreviated E3 and GDC right together in the headline sort of makes the news look desperate and far-fetched. However, it’s very possible that the game could be running into a little PR exposure at either event given the recent update on Mistwalker’s website.

According to the Rumor Killers on The Game Reviews, they are suspecting that a Lost Odyssey 2 could be on the rising tide of news that will emerge from the upcoming E3 and GDC events. How do they come to this presumption? Well, Microsoft is definitely announcing some new titles, and Mistwalker has a slate pristine and polished for a new project and it wouldn’t be the most far-fetched thing in the world.

This is further verified with new concept art released on the Mistwalker website, which indicates that new monster and character designs could be in the making. And, of course, what company waste efforts and resources on concept art for games unless they’re working on a game? Added to this…based on the art-style, it does resemble the industrialized Victorian setting of Lost Odyssey, making it a prime suspect for an announcement at one of this year’s upcoming game industry events

I really hope so.
Lost Odyssey has been the best JRPG so far this gen, any news on a sequel or spin off is good news to me.

I still think it is unlikely for it to be announced at GDC, but E3 is perfectly possible

However, I for one have no idea how we can have a LO 2, unless it is going to be an FF series, maybe just unconnected games, but all with "immortals"?

Munkeh111.

Square-enix dosent make the Lost odyssey or am i wrong.

The are technically independent, but basically owned by M$, so SE has no involvement. Their head was the creator of FF though. I compared it to FF as they do not have a continuous story that goes through all the games and I assume LO would do something similar to that

Around the Network

that would be great. lets hope for that and more JRPGs¡¡¡¡¡.

Nah. Fujisaka said that the concept art has nothing to do with Mistwalker's current project, and Greenberg said not to expect any announcements from MS at GDC.

LO2 at E3 would be cool. First game was great and a sequel could be spectacular if it takes everything good and takes OUT everything wrong with the last game. LO2 would be a major announcement since the first game managed to sell beyond a small niche audience in West. I can see LO becoming a major name in the industry(in other words, becoming the 3rd best selling JRPG series in the West) in a few years as the sequel(s) are developed.

I prefer Blue Dragon 2.

For the love of God Mystwalker announce something for PS3, for the love of god !
