EA stated they'd be relesing less sports games on Wii this year but the ones they did release would be of higher quality.

I saw this coming (I'd predicted it before). It's what EA said they'd be doing and it really makes sense. We'll still probably see NHL for Wii though, as there'd be more of an audience for that kind of game on Wii.

EA's statement came right before they announced Dead Space 2 for PS360 and a cheaper spin-off of the franchise for the Wii, so until further notice I'm not giving much importance to their statement that they'll support the Wii more than the HD consoles.
I'm not complaining, just saying I don't see signs that their strategy is changing that much.

The game was of poor quality on the Wii, so they scrapped it.
Don't be surprised to see the next NBA Live go along with it. Tiger Woods? That is the golden egg right there. They should focus on that as their star and keep improving Madden, so that I'll actually buy it next year.

Maybe NCAA 09's sales were lousy because the game was lousy and had a homo cover.

To be fair, it does seem like this was the right cover to choose. After reading some Amazon reviews, the actual game was probably every bit as well planned and designed aa this box art. =P
Good to see Wii is not anymore the quick cash machine. Well, its still a quick cash machine for EA, but good to see shovelware like NCAA All Play will be left out. Now time to announce the big projects and the hundreds of games you talked about. They are coming right??
