when you decide to buy a scary game again, consider Penumbra too, you can find it on retail or through GamersGate, Steam. it's effectively a first-person adventure, featuring a rather wonky combat. interaction is done with a cursor, like adventure games, but they are motion-based (click and drag forward to open a door, for example). the combat is done in the same way, you gotta swing a hammer or other weapon, and even though it sucks (at least in Overture, don't know about the other chapters) you can also hide yourself in the shadows to avoid it (sometimes).
