Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Other than DSi ware, is there really a need to buy a DSi?

Sure DSi ware will have some games but anyone with a DS firecard can just download those games for free. The camera on the DSi isn't very good and is a screen that is a tiny bit bigger really needed?I personally think the DS lite is just fine.

If you are going to buy a DSi what are your reasons?

No

The only other reasons I can think of are multimedia functionality (other devices do it better, but maybe you don't want to carry other devices), and the Opera browser.

Personally, I opted to buy a DS Lite while they're still available. GBA port plus another $50 I can spend on games. Booyah.

i bought it last year and i'm not regretting it at all, i'm one of those stingy guys too. It's hard to go back to the small screen after changing. I've had a blast with the camera, haven't even got any DSiware yet.

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

This thread is not fair! Let us rant with you, and not against your reason of buying a Nintendo DSI!

Honestly, I would have to say that the DSI Store and DSI Ware look interesting and those are my reason why I would buy an Nintendo DSI. I actually wrote a column on "Why the DSI is a No buy".

First, I'd just like to say that it's never a good idea not to buy something simply because you can steal it.

Second, the screens are larger, the sound goes higher, and the device itself is smaller, so yes.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

No, I prefer the GBA slot and I prefer to pay $130US than paying $170 for some extra content.

$169.99

is a rip off, I was going to get the dsi, but $169 is insane for a ds with no GBA compatibility and a camera.

naw it's like should i get genesis or dreamcast *GENESIS RAPED DREAMCAST*
stay with the ds, dsi is not that much of an upgrade, an okay camera, nothing big

You should be beaten, burned to ashes then someone should throw your ashes from a plane

My DS "fat" needs replacing, and I think the DSiWare will be good for killing time....
