The statement is true but then the damage would be minimal anyway ... think of all the PS3 fans who went on to buy a 360 for the best 3 FPS's this generation Gears, Gears 2 and Halo 3.

I'd hope not as Gears 1 and 2 are not First Person Shooters.

Because you have to hold down a trigger to switch into what appears to be a FPS perspective for shooting, it shouldn't be considered in the same arena as Halo 3, KZ2 or Call of Duty?

And in other news, Microsoft is expected to release a statement how Forza 3 will drive PS3 owners to the 360!

WOO!

I was just messing with seece.

i doubt it. I think it will just make the people that currently own both consoles play their PS3 a bit more. Then again i am spending alot of time at my buddies playing this game so maybe they are right

I mostly play RTS and Moba style games now adays as well as ALOT of benchmarking. I do play other games however such as the witcher 3 and Crysis 3, and recently Ashes of the Singularity. I love gaming on the cutting edge and refuse to accept any compromises. Proud member of the Glorious PC Gaming Master Race. Long Live SHIO!!!!

Keep on dreaming Sony. Killzone 2 is no doubt a good game, but it isn't much greater then Resistance 2.

No from what I've seen of Killzone 2, my roommate has it. It deserves it high scores. Resistance 2 was disappointment. I'm still at loss for why that game scored as highly as it did. My roommate never trades in his games. He still has his old Saturn and Sega CD stuff and he took Resistance 2 back to Gamestop and traded in it. He took a $30 loss on it.

I don't get this.  What did people expect of Resistance 2?  Because it didn't up Gears 2, it is a disappointment?

I don't think he mentioned Gears 2 at all, it seems he just doesnt like Resistance 2. If you meant sales-wise, which wasn't what Darc Requiem was talking about, then yes Resistance 2 is a disappointment because it couldn't sell comparably or even in the range of Gears 2.

Aw, no mention of Wii owners graduating to the PS3.

Because Sony knows that Nintendo Fans are loyal and will never transfer to their or Microsoft's side.

that is until nintendo fans finally reach puberty

But I seriously hope you weren't serious. I am serious about thinking this seriously true thing I speak of seriously.

And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... And this Nintendo DS. - The PS4, this Xbox 360, and the Gaming PC, and the PS3's, and that's all *I* need. And that's *all* I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one... I need this. - The Gaming PC and PS4, and Xbox 360, and thePS3's . Well what are you looking at? What do you think I'm some kind of a jerk or something! - And this. That's all I need.

I think these days it takes a really unique game to create a real system seller. With sooooo many console FPS's even a great one like KZ2 will have a hard time shifting HW. Halo did it because it was one of the first console FPSs to actually "get it" and not just try and shoehorn a PC control scheme into a controller (funny since it started off as a Mac/PC game). Wii Sports was successful at shifting hardware because it was likewise earth shattering. KZ2 seems much like the tagline would suggest "War. Perfected" meaning it is an evolution of a genre, but not a revolution. LBP was the one I expected to shift PS3 HW because it really was blazing a new trail, but for some reason that game has been largely ignored.

The hope for Sony is at some point to reach a critical mass of good exclusives so that everybody just can't live without one. I think they are moving in that direction, and certainly a price cut will help. But this progression has been slowed down dramatically with the 360 stealing a lot of expected exclusives. So who knows what it will take to change the tide.

Killzone 2 will get many interested but not enough. Sony isn't really building on the momentum if it really wants to do that. Like say Killzone 2 is all hyped and released, then it should start hyping up another triple AAA exclusive for release a few months down the line. That's what would sell the system not just for a game.

Wait a second, is that Sony's plan? To attack Micrsoft's fanbase? Honestly, if they're going to attack anyone's fanbase any logic sense would lead you to Nintendo's "expanded audience". Hell, they could even find their own special niche, but hoping games would take 360's fanbase is a terrible bet. Sony's not getting out of this rut anytime soon that's for sure.

You bring up an interesting point. Why has nobody else decided to try and go after the casual audience? I mean MS even has a cheaper console, it would seem logical to try and steal at least some of that market. If nothing else than to build a base for the next gen which I have no doubt will be more casual-centric (because it sells).

This would seem like an interesting point at first but you have to consider that this so called casual audience has already picked their console. I doubt "attacking MS' fanbase" is Sony's plan but if they could appeal to the 360 fanbase and have the average 360 only owner want a PS3 too then that makes sense. What other way to appeal to the 360 fanbase than with a shooter? I mean isn't that suppose to be what the 360 crowd is know for, playing shooters? I would think that there a lot more 360 owners that would like to play Killzone 2 than Wii owners. 360 owner raises eyebrows for Killzone 2, Wii owner doesn't give a shit.
