I'm sure this is going to attract PS3 fanboys like bees to honey, but anyone know a general breakdown for the Wii's demographics? I recall seeing an article on it during the last couple of months but can't google it successfully.

Just to head of the PS3 fanboys, it's 90% 4-year olds and 10% grandmas.

I can't seem to find the real numbers, didn't they present them at E3 or something?

Taking a quick poll of everyone in the room I am sitting in right now it seems that out of 1 people polled all of them have a Wii. This survey supports the article posted by Timmah! and should be taken about as seriously =)

 I don't recall the exact numbers but the average age of ownership of the Wii is upper 20's. 

It's also pretty even, at least more so than previous generations, across all age groups. 

I'll see if I can track down the reports I read those from.  One of them was from IDC whom are highly respected. 

From what I understand, the biggest demographic of Wii owners would be androids. It makes sense when you think about it.

There's a saying, everyone and their grandma owns a DS in Japan.
Seeing that the Wii trend is a lot like the DS, and even faster. I am going to guess their grandpa are going to own a Wii, too.

I wouldn't be surprised given the average gamer is in the upper 20's/lower 30's.
