Forums - Sony Discussion - Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 announced for the PS3 (Tecmo's secret game?)

Sony fans shouldn't rejoice too loudly, YOU KNOW MGS 4 is next. Just like MGS1 went on gamecube and PC and MGS 2 went on Xbox. That's much much bigger news than Ninja gaiden. Konami is not wealthy enough too ignore the 30 million hard core Xbox userbase.

Oh god. MGS4 rumors are starting again...

Don't worry, it's just tacoboy.

90% of his posts are like that. I thought he was banned ?

Its just that MGS has a long history of making enhanced ports on other systems. Also,Konami hasn't had a hit game in a long time. Also, its obvious that MGS only got half its total sales so far. Resident Evil 4 already shipped 4 million with much less hype! I'm sure Konami wants that last $240 million in sales.

here's a question for you Taco. What do you make of MGS3? People making your argument always just skip right over it, and I'd like your own logic on why MGS3 was released and even rereleased without making it to another platform.

...

Well MGs 2 made it too the Xbox. Mgs 2 subsistence. MGS 3 arrived in 2004. Microsoft killed the Xbox in 2005. There was no point in porting it too a dead console. By then, the PS2 had over 100 million users. This generation its different. The PS3 has 20 million the Xbox 360 has 30 million and Wii has 50 million. Its screaming for a port.

So you are just going based off of a single ported game. I'm sorry, but that is not a "long history of porting" by any means. It may or may not happen, but your logic is definitely flawed.

...

Like I said, Microsoft killed the Xbox the year after MG3 launched. No other ports were to made by that logic. Also, the PS2 was the dominant console. The other 2 were ported to the PC, Xbox, and Gamecube.

Meh I still don't care about it. I'll be waiting for GoW3 for my next hack n' slash...

OnamiWell, 4 million sales are good, but 5-8 million sales are better. At some point, konami should be envious of the massive success of other games like Resident evil 5, Gears of War, Call of Duty, or even Star Wars TFU.

I'd say Mass Effect is next, then MGS4.

Though a ToV port could be announced in between those two.

And Konami is wealthy enough to ignore the 360's install base. They're also smart enough to realize that a game that sells 4+ million on ps3 will at the very least break a million on 360, even if the game is released over a year later.

And I also think Epic is eying the ps3 pretty heavily at the moment.  MS only signed a contract for the first two Gears of War titles, and I'm thinking that Epic thinks they can pull CoD-esque numbers with the franchise if they go multiplat.  MS will have to write one hell of a check to keep the third game exclusive.

MS really should've locked up the entire trilogy from the getgo.  They created a monster with their hefty marketing, and that monster wants to break loose.  They should've built a bigger cage when it was still a pup.
