It is great that hardware and software cumulative data is available for the Americas and Japan. But how about a graph measuring tie rati for the two territories? In other words, N64 sold 20 million units in America. 120 million pieces of software were moved. That would mean a final tie ratio of 6 games per N64 sold (call it..Super Mario 64, Goldeneye 007, Super Smash Brothers, Banjo Kazooie, Star Fox 64, Mario Kart 64). PS1 sold 37 million units in America, with 134 million pieces of software sold. A 3.62 games (call it...Final Fantasy VII, Crash Bandicoot, Tekken 3, Metal Gear Solid) to hardware unit ratio. Being able to compare the tie ratio at a given time frame would be very useful. However, I think it would be more practical to make a tie ratio to time graph. That way, SNES, Genesis, Saturn, PS1, N64, DC, PS2, Xbox, GC, 360, PS3, Wii, GB, GBA, DS, PSP data could all be compared on one graph per territory. This would put to rest debate over which consoles had the best model for 3rd party developers as well.
