Ratchet and clank by name is much much bigger than sly the cooper. Even on the wii, Ratchet would destroy sly. LBP was heavily bundled the same way killzone 2 and MGS 4 was. Its hard to say how they would have sold without the bundles.

Still pushing that heavily bundled bullshit? One might wonder why you would even come into the Sony forums.

Ignore him Hes just jealous and a little bit insecure that the Xbox 360 lineup is looking kind of weak so far this year.

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

Honestly, I never heard of Sly Cooper [Only remembered the main character] until I heard about inFamous. I heard they were the makers of Sly Cooper than researched that.

I think you are right also, it will not receive well but it might on PSP. A platform game that needs to be made is Jak and Daxter. That appeals to both hardcore and casual gamers.

Battlefield Bad Company 2 > Modern Warfare 2

they actually never did that big of a success on the PS2, it was mainly Jak and Daxter (Jak II) . Ratchet and Clank is second i think.

edit: and with sucess i meant Sales, the only place i knew about Sly cooper is from a secret demo in one of the games (forgot about it), its not known well.

same thing happened to me with Urban Chaos , since i only knew about it from a demo in Hitman blood money.

get new material. it sold .84 million in the Americas without bundles and .14 in japan with few bundles (probably less than 10k which is what yakuza got) you think it would have sold less in others than americas without bundles? thats laughable europe is sonys bread and butter i would think it would actually meet americas sales. oh noes there are 300k questionable sales how desperate sony must have been with the extent of these massive bundle sales

we have to be honest here. R&C on the ps3 was released at a time when ps3 owners hardly had a decent library of games. due to this many games done well as ps3 owners were starved. look at r1 and r2 sales as an example.

sly may be well received by hardcore gamers, but how the mainstream audience will react is very different. sony this gen isnt no1 in gaming family entertainment (possibly what made j&d, sly and r&c hits last gen), the wii and the runner up 360 are. majority of sly owners are the younger gamers who cant afford a ps3 and have been given a wii or 360 instead.

taking this into consideration along with knowing that sly is the least popular among jak, r&c and lbp, it was a wise decision from suckerpunch to drop or hold back sly and cater fo the wider current ps3 audience.

ok im looking and what i see is that r2 can sell 0 copies for the next 5 or 6 months and still be on par with r1

If they're not going for a big-budget title, then I think the sales will be just fine.

4 ≈ One

Sucker Punch probably felt the same way and decided to make Infamous on PS3. I like Sly Cooper games but I don't think we'll see it on PS3.

Btw, what happened to Jak games?

MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.

*checks left and right to make sure nobody is there*

I never played any Jak and Dexter, Ratchet and Clank or Sly Cooper game EVER ....... I KNOW !!!!!!!!!!

I guess the PS2 had too many good games that some eventually had to pass by (tells you how much that system was great)

Sly would sell...
R&C sold 1.5 mill
LBP a Brand NEW IP sold over 2 mill
Both kiddy platforming games
add into account ps3 owners buy a variety of games(not just shooters) and it will sell at least a million

Still waiting on a New Road Rash and Legend of Dragoon 2...
