Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Which one is next to become an on-rail shooter on the Wii?

Mario; shroom em up

A sequel to Link's Crossbow Training? Most of the sections in the first game are on rails.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

@Zucas: What does have to do with anything though? Check the actual numbers of the mainline games vs the spin-offs. Check them.

Well apparently they are supposed to listen to their fans who buy the games as you say.  I buy more... they should listen to me more.  $100 speaks louder than $10... trust me.  Point taken hopefully.

And well not to cherry pick but Dead Rising was a mainline game but it didn't rest well with the members or general populous.  But hey RE:UC a spinoff did quite well with members and general populous.  Come on be real for a moment.  "On-rails" is just another scapegoat created by so called Wii fans to hide the real problem... not enough good games.  But even if the game is on rails or made by Ubisoft or whatever the next scapegoat is... people will buy it if its good.  If Dead Space: Extraction is good... people will buy it.

"new invasion"? the Wii really can't win, right?

first they take crap for releasing "noncore" games, now they are scoffed at for announcing SHOOTERS??

and it ain't exactly shovelware, folks.

at my count there are FIVE legit franchises on Wii with on-rails shooters.

1. Resident Evil (awesome game(s?))

2. House of the Dead (awesome gameS)

3. Sin & Punishment 2 (not even out yet!!)

4. Dead Space (not even out yet!!)

5. Ghost Squad (s'alright I guess)

so.... looking over that list, I certainly don't think this is the epidemic people complain that it is, and I certainly don't think it's anything to complain ABOUT!! these are quality, core titles that make the most of the Wii and could not be replicated on the other consoles......

gamers just won't stop complaining.... it's disgusting to watch.

its not gamers are complaining its the people who bought a wii thinking its a console that can do as much if not more than Ps3 and 360, they wanted Dead Space to look as good if not better than the ones on HD consoles, but guess what? it cant, so the devs put it out as an On-rail shooter. now imagine Dwad space if it would look like No more Heroes , that wouldnt be good right?

btw On-Rail shooter is different from Third Person or First Person Shooter.

The long awaited sequel to Chicken Shoot.

@Zucas: You try harder next time, because my point wasn't that. I never said those games were good or not, I said the fans of the series don't want it to change so dramatically. And it's true because sales tell you that. So hopefully next time you'll use a bit of common sense when replying to someone, instead of going ahead and trying to be condescending.

Btw Dead Rising was a port of a 3 year old game, you couldn't come up with a better example?

Realistic potential series:

Bioshock dont know about that.
Aliens vs Predator (hey, the IP is in SEGAs hands for now) Good point!
StarFox i think they better work on a new star fox rather than Onrails that would piss alot of the fans waiting for it.
Rogue Squadron (though probably set in prequal era) Another good point =]

This post wins IMO

Support good third party games on wii. Buy games like house of the dead overkill, de blob, madworld, the conduit and boom blox.
