It's the best sandbox game of this gen.
You should really give it a go. Just played it yesterday again.

I didn't buy it either but I came close several times. This thread has become my incentive. I think EBGames is selling it for $10-$15 and this weekend (at least at my local store) is buy 2 get 1 free.

Wow, people enjoyed it this much? I thought the game was kind of laughed at and only bought for the Halo 3 codes.

Can you create your own character in this game?

Nah but you have a bunch of charaters to choose from (about 10 I think) They all change their look a bit when you reach a new level.

The main "story" isn't that long, but it has a great replayability. You can always revive all gangs again if you finished the game and it will last you many hours to finish all of the activities.
Also the game is fully co-op playable and it has some of the best (most fun) achievements of all 360 games.

EDIT: You're not bound to the same character. You can always change him while your abilities stay the same

Crackdown is worth 100 of your dollars, get that game - NOW.

As it was already said - it is easily amongst the most underated games of the 360, an absolute blast :)

you can choose from a number of different character models(there is a free download for some additional ones)

the story itself is not very long at all.  but there are a bunch of additional things to do and the replayability is high.  with one of the free downloads you can just reset the gangs that you kill for the story part of the game and then they are returned to the world and you can continue doing the other things.
