Quality-wise it will easily surpass FFVII (surpassing FFXII on the other hand is a hard task). What for the sales .. Original FFVII has never sold 9.7m copies. This number includes all the re-releases and most likely - PC version. Both FFVIII and X came close to its success (8 millions including re-releases)

FFXIII has a serious disadvantage in Japan, but also some serious advantages in the West. Yoshinori Kitase claims they will advertise the game so much that the whole world will know about it, but being a 3rd party publisher SE is limited in their powers. So it depends on whether Microsoft will help them or not.

Overall I'd say it has a 30% chance of outselling FFVII worldwide.

Hell, I don't even like JRPGs!

Hopefully FF13 will not focus on being a whole lot of show and will actually have a decent amount of substance.

Maybe if we're lucky even some interesting characters and an interesting plot?

FF13! My most anticipated game of this generation ever since the day it was announced. The game will be amazing, I hope the sales reflect that.

However, it could sell 400 million units and become the best selling game of all time for all I care - no way will it be an FF7 killer.

It will probably be a great game but i doubt it will be quality wize and sales wize to Final fantasy 7.

i dont think its to unreal it could happen its on the 360 aswell and just look at the recent RE5 sales in Japan making people wait for a game is good for sales
