Forums - Sales Discussion - Why are you doing (playing) with your PSP ???

There something that sound strange to me.

I've checked US charts (TOP 10) since 1 year (since the week ending 26th august 2006).

Can anybody explain to me that I've only found 2 PSP games (GTA vice city on 4th nov 06, and Madden 07, from 26th august to 9th sept 06) ? I mean 2 games in only 50 FUCKING WEEKS !!!! that's incredible ! Look at 360 games or Wii (or even PS3) games in the same time !!

There is always 2 or 3 360 games in the top 10 despite the fact that 360 sold only 6 millions and we all know that PSP sold well (less than DS, of course, but well), almost 9 million in NA LTD, right ?

So :

- What are you playing with your PSP ?

- What do you think third parties will going to think about it ?

- Do you really think that GO!messenger, or VOD, or Go explorer (GPS) will going to save the PSP ? (I mean "as a video game hardware" ??)

In my opinion Sony has totally wrong with its politic.

Are you saying we PSP owners suck or PSP games suck ???

Handhelds always have a lower attach rate then consoles. The difference is that the PSP doesn't have the install base that the DS and GBA have. It also doesn't have the same number of big games as those other handhelds. Development cost for PSP games arn't sky high (i.e 10-20m$), so I don't see why 3rd parties would not suport the console. Games don't need to sale 1m units just to break even.

I sold me PSP, but will buy a slim line for FF VII spin-off

The Poor sales have to have something to do with the modded consoles, I dont know what % of PSP's are modded but im guessing it is more than many people think for sales to be this bad. I know the attach rate on Handhelds is less but i have never seen a rate this low, Its not that games are bad either as many of them have excellent reviews.

I have 5 PSP games: Mega Man Powered Up, Lumines, Puzzle Quest (could have bought for my DS), Ratchet, and since yesterday: Jeanne D'Arc.

I have almost 30 DS games, but I don't feel like listing them all lol.

I mostly use my PSP to emulate old games. I do not emulate ANY recent games, because I think it hurts the industry. The only old games I emulate are games I have already purchased and still have the cartridge/CD of. However, I have no problems having roms of games I bought who's internal cartridge batteries have died...

I'm using my PSP right now as a music device and putting my Naruto and Bleach anime episodes on it...lol...and I'm playing only Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops. There just isn't any games I like right now. I want Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core though. That's the only reason my interest for PSP is because of Final Fantasy VII.

blaming pirated games of psp while skipping the ds totally?
psp didn't fail because of pirate. it failed because of what its functionalities altogether provide.

hardware wise, psp is not a failure. it's just the attach rate that is failing.
