This makes absolutely no sense. The Wii hasn't received a single price cut since it released a couple years ago. So production costs have not dropped AT ALL after all this time... Come on Nintendo, how much money do you honestly want?

It makes perfect sense ! you know why !? because people are still gonna buy it !!!!!!!!

y would they lower the price when they r constantly sold out its not good business sense

Wiis have been freely available in the UK for over a year, hence shops are selling them for under RRP. But you're right, lowering the price would be stupid when the Wii is still outselling the other consoles and raking in money.

I'm not saying they should lower the price. If the demand is there, by all means keep it where it is. But raising it is just greed on their part. I guess the billions they were already making wasn't enough. Really makes you wonder where all the money's going, cause it's definitely not going towards game development.

It's all about the game.

Apple raised the prices for their products in the UK not too long ago.

people are still gonna buy it

I can't believe Nintendo wouldn't just take the losses. Poor UK, but I can't help but think that this will be coming to the rest of world as well.

I am pretty sure that Sony will follow as well. They are hurting as well thanks to the exchange rate. Microsoft is the only one in a good position.

95% of gamers don't know they are noobs, the 5% who do won't be noobs for long

Not good business, financially speaking. Nintendo only produces, develops, and publishes videogames. They have nothing to fall back on like Microsoft has operating systems and Sony has televisions, stereos, etc. If Nintendo doesn't make money off their products, there is no point in selling them.

WTF happened to the pound anyway? It used to be worth $2, now its like $1.05. Is the euro to blame?
