Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo to Lose Share to Third Parties This Year, says Analyst

It's good, because market share =/= units sold. If Nintendo sells a similar amount of software as last year (likely) but third parties sell twice as much, that would be a large share shift away from Nintendo but Nintendo would make more money (and the system could be said to be more popular).

Nintendo's system rises, while their releases hit a slump. The formula shouldn't be hard to track. Though i do recall that the share was closer to 60%, not 70

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Lol yeah right, After Nintendo annouces there Holiday released game it will be 90/10.

3rd parties have to take advantage now.

Nintendo has a boatload of franchises harboring and waiting to be released.
When 2010 rolls along.....it might be a game over.

Sega learned, and so have EA to an extent. Time for everyone else that is flailing to play catch up.

Actually, this would be good for both Nintendo and 3rd parties, because I don´t think thi would mean Nintendo-titles sell worse but only better 3rd party sales, which would result in better hardware sales.

hey, i have a question. does nintendo get royalties for every game sold on the wii, or just the ones that they publish?
