Ok, so I picked up Madden 08 tonight because a buddy of mine was about to kill me if I didn't buy this game. I am the one who insisted he get a Wii and Madden (plus other games) so we could play together. He is very happy with his purchase but, he bought Madden on day one and well, I slacked. I played one game with my brother whom I was helping with his math hw (i won) and he has the 360 Madden. He said Wii's was more fun due to the controls but, didn't look as pretty. Though he said he would rather have the wii version. Then he left and my buddy finished a game with another friend and wanted to play me now. So I went online and tried to setup a EA account. I failed. Tried 5 more times. All failed. Said "WTF!!!". Went on PC and tried to make account there first. It is now saying "Sorry. This page is currently unavailable. Please try again later." WTF. EA's site is screwing me. At first I thought my Wii's online was screwing me, now I know's its EA's site. GOD this pisses me off. Make game for every known platform, then build enough servers to support the damn thing!!! Anywho, I just wanted to vent.

I have Madden for the Wii, and I think it's lame. I like the Wii's graphics better, however, the gameplay just isn't there. Defence is impossible to play because of the controls; there is no create a player feature, which is lame; and the lack of QB vision really hurts. Also, the controls arn't really responsive when passing. When you move the controler to pass the ball, the QB doesn't release the ball right away; I find this very annoying, as I'm always getting sacked because of it. This is not a good game at all, and is not as good as the 360 or PS3 version

One of my friends also had the same problem in passing. However, once he went through the passing minigames he got a lot better. Sometimes people just are not doing the 'right' motion.

I think the controls are really good. I played Madden 07 a bit, and now 08, and I have gotten them down pretty well.

I was never a big sports game fan, so these two are my first encounters with Madden since...well since Madden first came out. So I have never tried the create a player feature or really gotten trained on the 'normal' controls.

I think it really comes down to the controls. If you like em, you will like the Wii better, if not then one of the others.

The passing controls arn't hard at all. There just not as responsive as you would like. In my first game, I completed 27 out of 40 pass attemps, which isn't bad for someones first time. The game was on All-pro when doing this. Unlike yourself, I am a hardcore sports fan. I like sports just as much as Video games, actually. I have alot of exp with Madden, as I've owned every single Madden outside of 08 on the Gamecube. Me, my friends and family are very competetive with Madden, so it's important that the controls are responsive.

In the end, there's absolutely no reason to choose this one over these other versions: Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, Xbox, or even PSP. If you're a Madden beginner, just play an easy level on a different console.

Way to go ckmlb! 1 UP is the site to go when you want to read non-biased wii reviews! It really doesn't matter that IGN gave Wii Madden 08 8.5/10 or Gamespot 8/10.

It's as if you're constantly trying to pick a fight with Nintendo fans (and not fanboys), just because you have 'the power' (pun intended). In 90% of your comments, you're bashing Nintendo, as if you're trying to prove to everyone that Nintendo isn't worth it's success.

If you really wanted to express your opinion, you should have links to more reviews, not just from 1 UP. YOU'RE A MODERATOR, you MUST DO THAT and try to be as objective as possible. If you were a simple member like me, I wouldn't have a (big) problem with your opinions. But the fact that you're a mod is supposed to be more than your nickname in red.

I'm really sorry, but I think I've had enough of ckmlb always trying to 'spoil the fan', in a very "gentle" way nonetheless.

Agreed, ckmlb is not attacking anyone, he's just vocal about his opinions and I appreciate that.  He has always believed 1UP reviews and although I will fight him to the death about the validity of that website he has every right to express his opinions about it and certainly every right to quote it.

There's nothing wrong with Ckmlb's post. Just because his isn't stuck up Nintendo's ass doesn't mean he's a bad mod or memeber. Seriously, the world doesn't revolve around the Wii/DS. There are other systems with other fans, not just Nintendo stuff. If you can't handle someone not liking Nintendo as much as you, then you really need to grow up. I believe that 1up is Ckmb's favorite place to get reviews, so he most likely chose to use that site because of this. Considering that Ckmb has a Wii, i really don't see how or why he'd be picking fights with Nintendo fans.
