it's old news , so sorry if it's already posted

Why is it that only fucking RPGS get CGI scenes this year? RPGs are all fine and dandy, but I wanna watch beautiful cut scenes again in other games. :[

^ because CGI cut-scenes take too much space, the cost is a lot and in-game engine cut scenes are so good now.

on-topic, decent score

Wii/Mario Kart Wii Code:2793-0686-5434

in game cut scenes look like crap. Sony has no excuse for not having CGI cutscenes, Blu-Ray has plenty of space for such things.

current gen ingame cutscenes are nowhere near close to CGI yet. they are not even on par with Square/Blizzard CGI of late 90's.

OT: been posted and discussed to death.

Case in point, FFT. The intro movie to it is just wonderful.

I dunno.....trailers from FFXIII went straight from CGI to cutscene to battle and I could barely tell the difference

Edit:

The differense is much easier to notice in the latest trailer though. This one was more like a target-render than actual ingame.

Last and current gens it has become possible to make simple cutscenes ingame instead of CG. But there are a lot of things that are absolutely impossible to make using ingame. The sequences with these flying ships for example: ingame like this will only be possible with PS6 if we are lucky.

Yeah that is all CGI. I remember the ad for FFVII, showed all cut scenes and shit, then I play it and I'm like "what the fuck? his arms are fucked up"
