Uh, no Pull the stick/yoke towards you(backwards) and the nose goes up. Push the stick/yoke foreards(away from you) and the nose goes down. Inverted y mimicks this for fps and flight games. All I use is inverted y. A while a go an article about why some people use one or the other made its rounds on the gaming blogs: Basically it has to do with how your brain percieves the control of the character.

I use the inverted Y-axis in all first person shooters. It feels like you're controlling a camera on a tripod. In essence, that's you're doing in-game anyway.

I hate it the other way.

 hmm..yea.. i got mixed up x.x

i know I dont have the controls in warhawk inverted but in BF1942 and BF2 I do.. if that makes any sense.

Thats a pretty good comparison. I could never quite put a finger on why it 'felt better' inverted. I thought I just got used to.

I always use Inverted Y-axis. I hate it when games don't have the option of inverting it. I have such a hard time if it's not inverted.

I was "trained" on the inverted Y axis playing MS Flight Simulator 3.0 in the late 80s on my Dad's Tandy 1000SX (which had a 20 MB hard drive and 640kB of ram!). I played that game a lot, actually, so the inverted axis was ingrained in my head by the time I was 10. I cannot play games any other way. Seriously, for me it's not just a preference; I cannot control a game without the inverted Y axis.

I always invert inverted y axis. i blame goldeneye 007 on the n64. My best friend always thinks im odd cuz i do this :)
