Forums - Sony Discussion - Killzone 2 NEW patch

From the people that have been able to intelligently word their thoughts on the official forums, the two biggest changes appear to be that the deadzone is a wee bit smaller so the accel feels more linear now, and there is less inertia when turning so you're less likely to overcorrect when aiming -- the crosshairs stop when you stop. Otherwise, the "feel" is the same.

Essentially, the tweaks are so minor that if you didn't have a problem before, you probably won't notice the change now, and if you did think it was a problem before, this should make the crosshair a bit more representative of what you intended to do and less erratic.

FFS can a FPS not be even a little bit original?  I like the controls because they are different and a challenge to perfect.  Hopefully they didn't fuck with them too much

Why did they patch the controls? They were fine. Too many idiotic whiners who complained because they were no good at the game and that it actually takes skill. Oh well, I'll see what the new ones are like tomorrow.

UPDATE; The patch (1.20) has been released, it is 16MB, full list of changes below;

  • Stability issue regarding randomly named games resolved.
  • Stability fix when rapidly tapping (X) can cause crash on spawn-select.
  • Stability issue regarding Saboteur’s disguise ability resolved.
  • Stability fix on ‘Creating game’ with a blank name.
  • Stability fix for repeatedly entering exiting game.
  • The Ignore list functionality corrected.
  • Unlock of “Frontrunner” Medal now functioning correctly.
  • Fix for incorrect award of win to clan not showing for game resolved.
  • Battle Replay for Corinth Crossing not appearing correctly on www.killzone.com.
  • Issue with not being able to defuse the Search and Destroy objective resolved.
  • HUD issue correction during Assassination mode when playing as a Medic.
  • Controller input tweaks and modifications.
  • Fix for auto-lock on of shotgun exploit.
  • Fix for D-Charge issues in Campaign mode.

 

 

 Can the haters claim a victory?

It was fixed in a week.... So obviously it wasnt all that big of a deal.

Funny because playing the demo for me guaranteed one less sale purely based on the frustration of zoomed in aiming.  I would guess they realised there were people who had an issue and tweaked accordingly so we can enjoy the game too.  It shouldn't make any difference to such a skilled gamer like yourself to adapt or are you going to whine now?

This small tweak will bring some extra sales in my opinion, I'll be buying once I've retried them on my friends PS3.

If you were a developer and you got a 159 page thread complaining about the controls in your game, would you patch them?
