lets wait for HEAVY RAIN , and let u judge that, i think 3rd partys should start makingmulticonsole games for each plataform so 360 and ps3 owners can enjoy true quality , so they can compare graphics.

You need to play the full game. Demo gives you a bad impression. Rent it, when you get to the "orange" you will go @_@ WOOT

Again, Heavy Rain looks good, but not Killzone 2 good.
And 3rd parties already do make multiconsole games...for each platform? What?

Right on d21lewis.
Gameplay will always out last graphics but even more so when the difference in the look is not really noticable.
@ravenx
If HEAVY RAIN turns out to be Dragons Lair PS3 with a more CGI look, then it won't matter. I admit that I do not know a lot about HR but if it is one long choose your own adventure quicktime event, it will look great but be very shallow in the game play. Why not just make a CGI horror/thriller move that requires you to push a number sequence every 30 seconds on your blu-ray remote. Hell you could make that live action and claim graphics superority on the Wii (if it had DVD playback active that is)
I'd have to say you're a fool if you only see "minimal graphical differences" when it comes to the exclusives. The best graphical game for the 360 is Gears 2. Plain and simple. If there's anything in development (most of which we know about), they don't surpass Gears. On the PS3 side, there's Heavy Rain (that's the big one) Uncharted 2, and if David Jaffe is anything to go by, GoW3. Plus, inFamous is using a deferred rendering engine like KZ2, so depending on design, it could look better than KZ2 also.
And all of those games graphics > Gears 2
And before you say "How do you know, you haven't played them, they're not out yet"

GoW3.....just look at the latest Game Informer
inFamous is the only one I'll concede as MAYBE not being that great looking....but then again, it's using the same rendering engine as KZ2....
What I've learned the hard way is that screenshots and videos from the internet almost always look better than the actual product looks running on my console. It's funny how that works. I use my PS3 to watch an online video about a PS3 game on my HDTV, and it looks better than the actual game running on the same TV!!

Don’t get me wrong, it looks great but I do not think it looks any better than a lot of the other games in my collection (PS3 and 360 that is, as most of my Wii games look like crap and I accept that.) |
You are, of course, entitled to your opinion, but I'm inclined to say that if you don't "see" that Killzone 2 has set a new benchmark in console graphics, then you are probably not recognizing how jaw-dropping the lighting, smoke, and fire/explosions are. From the way peoples' feet kick up sand in the maps set on Pyrrhus, to the way that muzzle flashes illuminate confined rooms and corridors, or how opponents' movements are sometimes tipped off by the 20-foot tall shadows they might cast on the wall behind them, to the way explosions billow out plumes of smoke that roll across your line of sight and completely obscure your shots.
These are all things that have absolutely blown me away about Killzone 2. Sure, if you remove the minutiae and evaluate Killzone 2 just on its maps and textures and architecture, it then looks like 'just another shooter.' But the devil's in the details, and Killzone 2 pays more attention to those details than any game on any console I've ever seen, and probably 95% of the most current titles on the PC too.
You would have to be a fanatic to claim that KZ2 is vastly superior to anything else out there.
I highlited the key words for everyone who has trouble seeing through their rose colored glasses.
Honestly it is getting to the point of your choice fo graphics. I think Unreal looks like plastic. But still amazing. KZ2 graphics look amazing "swooshing" by. I am interested in seeing uncharted 2. But I doubt we will ever see that day anytime soon where the game play graphics look well... real life. In the mean time you have to use your best jugement of what art style you like.
@michael-moore: Are all your posts in new threads?
OT: I think that the difference between the Xbox 360 and the PS3 in graphics will be unnoticeable to the naked eye.
