Forums - General Discussion - Daft Punk to score TRON 2.0 soundtrack...

http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/news/daft-punk-score-tr2n-soundtrack-1003947855.story

I'm excited about this development

Surely they'll make this in 3D? If they can turn Miley Cyrus & Anus Brothers into 3D projects, Disney can do the same for a movie that seems tailor made for the medium.

Playing: Borderlands(great co-op,HUGE amount of content),Too Human(better late than never lol),Saints Row 3(Penetrator ftw),Minecraft 360,Harry Potter Lego.

Patiently waiting for:  Tomb Raider, Borderlands 2

They're making a tron 2.0? *highwaystar101 jokes to self about tron and the deadly discs*

If they make it in 3D without polarising glasses and use some kind of autosteroscopic technology it would be very pioneering of them I think, kind of like the pioneering they did in the first film.

Awesome!!! Daft Punk haven't really put out anything since Human After All.. which was in '05 I believe. Well, they put out Alive but that was a live album. This is great news.

Is this their new album they said they were working on a few monthes ago? Or will we get TWO new Daft Punk releases in 09?

Crusty VGchartz old timer who sporadically returns & posts. Let's debate nebulous shit and expand our perpectives. Or whatever.

Lets hope it doesn't suck like Human After All. That album was certainly not up to par by Daft Punk standards.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. HOLY DUCK

thats really awesome

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

thanks for reporting that news, Wonder if AICN is mentioning it?

edit, they haven't. Man this is the best idea ever, its so amazingly perfect it beats any soundtrack that ever existed prior to it to death with a bloody robot fist.

Anyone done a mashup of Daft Punk overlayed on the original film? That bike scene, ITS GONNA ROCK

It's their worst album but works unbelievably well mashed up with their body of work on the Alive 2007 tour album.

I mean I like quite a few tracks on Human After All. But Daft Punk has set the bar for themselves way higher than that. There is some garbage on that album, not to mention it is the shortest of all the albums they have put out. It was a pretty half-hearted effort if you ask me.

We're not getting Tron 2.0 until 2011...It's gonna be just as bad as waiting for XYZ gaming companies to release XYZ games! Hopefully we'll get a new Daft Punk album this year sometime...

I still watch the Daft Punk anime DVD Interstella 555 every few weeks...Truly epic aurally and visually. I went out to a club last night(which i do maybe 2-3 times a year) and the DJ managed to drop 3 tracks off the Discovery album in the space of about an hour...made my night!
