It actually has been done before, believe it or not, on ESPN 2K5.  The last ESPN football game (which was my favorite sports game of all time) allowed you to play against celebrities like Steve O and Carmen Elektra.  Their playstyle was recorded in the AI and it played just like an actual person would.  This made me think of how cool it would be if you could go through the leaderboards in a game and select the top person in the world to play against them with the AI playing exactly like they do. . .

or if you could face against yourself.  That would especially be cool in a FPS which could really help someone get their skills up.  More develpers should try this.  Just imagine playing a team deathmatch game with a bunch of bots that play at the exact skill level you do.

Unreal Tourny already has Godlike as a skill level, so I'm covered.

I believe that in SSBB, the AI learns your attack pattern and changes it's style based on it. I could be wrong though... I forgot where I heard that.

Blackman, the polish SC player did that IIRC. He had no internet connection at home, so he would program the build orders and styles of top players to the AI, and then play against them.

The AI in SSBB also only single out one person 75% of the time. :(

Compared to melee, the fairness of the AI in Brawl is terrible, but yes, I do think they learn from your attack patterns...
