Forums - Sales Discussion - my girlfriend loves the wii

Hi People, first sorry for all my english mistakes i will make ... iam from vienna and we speak german there ... i try my best :) i had always problems to play console in past cause my girlfriend told me iam wasting time and i should do something useful ... she always told me she can not handle the "controllers" (the typical answer for woman which are not interested in electronic gaming) so i started to think about buying a wii... for me the last chance to show her that gaming can be funny... well, all i had to do was waiting nearly 3 months till i found one shop who had one. After the typical "honey, why did you waste 249 euro" the big surprise: she LOVES it ... and the best is: she don't mind if the graphics are better on ps3 cause she can now play tennis and she has good mood for other things in the evening ;) the only thing i must now do is explain her why zelda is better than wii sports ... what i want to say is, that in some cases people can be happy with a wii cause it is funny to see a beautiful girl playing (or trying to play) with a wii remote controller :) so, in my situation i can be happy, than what is better: a. don't play b. play with a wii and even have fun with girlfriend c. leave the girlfriend maybe this is the success of the wii ? cause my girlfriend told all her friends about her "new expierence" with the wii ... and when shes talking about console it is something special :) greetings to all here and much fun playing with your girlfriend :)

Better make sure to turn the rumble function off next time she insists on playing with it.

Yeah thats nice, don't care.

I know this sort of thing has been widely reported... but I have a very similar experience. Except that its extended past my GF to include her immediate family - sister, mother, aunties, close friends. Its definitely the coolest thing about the Wii - watching complete "non-gamers" use (or try to use) it :)

Anyone hear about the retirement home (I forget where its located) having a bowling tournament on the wii?

This is a warning. Do not come into a thread just to post a negative comment that isn't related to the topic and lower the discussion. If you don't care about the topic, do not post in it.

Yes, it was in the Feb07 issue of EGM magazine. It was a very well-written article. They also featured it on their video podcast The 1up Show. To the OP: Yes, I've noticed this as well with girls. Girls that normally don't play much or at all enjoy playing the Wii. By the way, Topless Wii Sports is a wonderful experience. Two words: strip bowling, man. Strip bowling.

After I brought my Wii over to my Oldest Brother's house through christmas my (other) Brother's Fiancee asked for a Wii for her birthday (which she got) and My sister in law plans on getting one when they become more available... Both of these Women have played videogames before (both like games like Mario-Party and Mario Kart) but I don't think they have ever wanted a console for themselves before ...

I'm glad she enjoys the Wii, my wife's always been a gamer and she loves the Wii. She wants Cooking Mama, Super Paper Mario, Mario Galaxy, Nintendogs (I Think that's coming out), etc etc. I'm glad she's also more "frisky" at night with you too! A pleasured gamer, is a happy gamer. :D

Well my mom wants to get a Wii and she's never bought a gaming console for herself in her life. The Wii is really doing something specialy is expanding the gamer base, and a lot of that is going to come from female gamers. As a hardcore male gamer I think that's great. I'll play the Wii too, though just not as my primary console. I'm interested in thing like great graphics and online that the Wii doesn't offer, but at the same time I'm going to have to get a Wii just because it plays games in a totally new way and I believe motion sensing is the way of the future for video games.
